  It's purely cosmetic for me. I just like the way the commanders look for some reason. Since I have a bunch of ugly polymer guns I figure I'm allowed to be picky about the looks on this one.

  Yes sir. I went with the Commander length. For reasons I can't articulate, I seem to prefer commander length 1911's.

I bought a tube of it recently as well. I haven't shot it yet but I'm sure it will be fine. My friend has shot a bunch of it through his Beretta 92 without issue.   Honestly though, Wal-Mart is no longer the cheapest supplier of ammo. I've been buying most of mine online at significantly less.

I finally ventured into the 1911 world over the weekend and I'm pretty happy. I put 100 rounds downrange with only one FTF. The gun even ate Gold Dot's without issue. This gun is around $100-150 more than the regular SR1911 but it comes with night sights and better grips(IMO) so I think it was worth it. Plus, I think it looks a hell of a lot better than the standard Ruger. The only negative is that the trigger leaves a lot to be desired but it's already getting better. Now I just need to find some 8 round magazines and a nice leather holster. What do you all carry your 1911's in?

I went ahead and purchased my 10.5" PSA upper which will finish out my pistol build. What a bizarre chain of events this has been. I'm not sure what to believe at this point. 

  He wrote about it in his book. I don't think we ever determined if it was true but my guess is that he made it up. Just like he made up the fight with Ventura.      I don't understand your response. Were you not aware of this?

I had this happen once in Knoxville. I lost my cool and scraped their car as I was backing. I think it damaged my car just as much as theirs. I'm not as uptight any more...

Greg,   I think the idea is that when kids are together then tend to show off, get distracted, or just act like general idiots. When I look back at the crap that I pulled from 16-18 I'm lucky to be alive.    I once did 143mph in my Maxima on I-40. Granted it was 0300 and I was the only car on the road. It was still dangerous as hell.   I understand what you're saying though.

I'm man enough to admit I was crying at the end. I've never heard a theater that quiet after a movie. It was silent. I know I wasn't the only one that shed a few tears either.   I wish the movie hadn't focused as much on catching that one dude but overall it was still a good film. I think it's hard to make a movie about such an impressive American.

When do we get to hear that story?

I saw the movie over the weekend. It was pretty good. My eyes were moist at the end.

My dog is 16 months old and my fiance wants to get him snipped. I've heard this can lead to a personality change that isn't for the better. I've also read that it will cut down on these nasty piss spots all over the floor where is junk drips. It is disgusting!    I know that it is the responsible thing to do buy I just want to make sure he's not going to be worse for it.

Interesting. With have something similar in Orlando but it's not that upscale. It does have a lounge area where members can hang out and socialize. It's not really my thing but I can understand why people like it.   I do find it interesting that they won't even bring up politics. That bothers me a little. I hope they at least support the GOA and NRA. This isn't a hobby where politics can be ignored in my opinion. 

Good for you. I have an AR and I still don't understand how the damn thing really "operates". I wish I had someone teaching me these things as a kid. Instead I'm trying to pick up the pieces in my 20's.
