One article I read said that these guys had "military training". Apparently one would move while the other offered cover fire. But after watching the video they seemed anything but professional. 

  Well, I hear Minnesota is nice this time of year..  ;) 

2 men with AK's stormed a French newspaper and opened fire. There are some pretty horrific videos out there showing a police officer being shot point blank.   I've watched live coverage all morning and I have yet to see a single French officer armed with more than a sidearm.        Warning- pretty disturbing video on this Facebook page. Crazy video. Glad the cop is alright. Apparently he was wanting to hold the gun in his pocket but it slipped from his grip causing him to pull the trigger.

  I completely agree. Which is why I said earlier that I wouldn't leave a toddler alone with ANY big dog. 

  It's more than that though. It's really become an obsession for many.  

I do not understand our fascination with sports. Most Americans couldn't tell you who our current Speaker of the House is but by God they can name every Football team. 

    Every pit bull I've ever spent time with has been nothing but loving to me. All were great dogs so I understand why owners defend them.   However, we cannot ignore the facts. You wouldn't believe how many hogs we have down in Florida. We have a lot of people who shoot them and just let em rot where they fall. 

  You're making it sound like it's the victims fault if they are bit. I'm sure he's a great dog. But labs have bitten a lot of kids. Any dog can bite. That's the only point I was trying to make.

  Good post and I agree. I do have to ask though, would you even leave small kids alone in the room with your dogs? Like I said, my 2 dogs are awesome and have never shown aggression but I still wouldn't leave my toddler alone in the room. There have been too many cases where the family dogs have "snapped" and mauled kids. This covers all breeds.

You just never know with dogs. They are still animals. My fiance and I have talked this over and if we ever have kids they will never be left alone with our dogs and we have 2 of the sweetest dogs you can imagine. 

Mine still has not shipped. I suspect it will be a while.

Exactly this. The only thing I would add is prepare more. But that goes hand in hand with training.

Just a follow up. On Monday I worked from home and caught 3 thugs snooping around my neighbors house. All were underage and charged with possession of marijuana. I think they were trying to break in because they ripped the screen off the back door. Cops disagreed and wouldn't charge them. 2 of the thugs live in my neighborhood unfortunately. At minimum they should have been charged with criminal trespass. Oh well.

Apparently I have Strep ear-not strep throat. Either way, it's not fun.

Well my strep throat test came back negative but the doc thinks I have it in my left ear. Never heard of strep ear until yesterday. I'm on antibiotics for the next 10 days.
