  1. Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks again
  2. Congrats on the new 10. I bought my first Glock 29 as a backup gun before heading up to Alaska in 2012. After several thousand rounds fired and reloaded, my 29 has done really well with any reloads as well as any standard factory loads on the market. I did experience some FTF issues when using Doubletap and Underwood hot 220 hard cast loads. However, an 18 pound recoil spring from Wolfe springs did clear a lot of that up. I’ve shot hundreds of rounds of 40 through my 29 with the stock barrel and recoil spring without a single issue. Enjoy your Glock 29! I know I have.
  3. Whose talking about driving? It's as simple as a phone call and a FedEx shipping label! Either way, good luck in your search. Those are incredible handguns!
  4. Thanks stealthgoat. That is exactly what I’m hoping to do. Just curious what brand of 38 super barrel you’re using? Was it drop in, or did it require fitting by a gunsmith?
  5. Good info. Thanks a lot Grayfox54.
  6. I recently purchased a Springfield Garrison 1911 in 9mm. Have any of you experimented with converting one over to 38 Super? If so, what parts did you replace and how much fitting was required? Thanks in advance.
  7. GT Distributors in Dallas, TX has one.
  8. Like others have said, it kind of depends on what I’m up to… Favorite Plastic Fantastic…HK USP COMPACT Favorite plinker…Ruger 10/22 Takedown Favorite Range Blaster…Colt LW Commander Favorite Woods carry… Glock 29 All are subject to change at any moment.
  9. Thanks a lot for the info. I’m with you, having a dedicated set for 45GAP makes far more sense then swapping back and forth. Thanks again.
  10. Hello all. I’ve been reloading 45ACP for a while. I came across an inexpensive Glock 45GAP Model 38. Can I reload 45GAP with LEE 45 ACP dies?
  11. I always fly with my firearms. Unfortunately, American Airline’s limit is 11 pounds stored in either the original container or one specifically made for the ammunition. Check your airline’s policy. As for NFA items, that would definitely be worth a phone call to the NRA.
  12. I’d say the 1911 would be the logical choice over a SA revolver for defense. Higher capacity, ballistically more than sufficient for the task, faster into action, and easier to use with a single hand. Just my opinion though.
  13. Over the past few weeks, I’ve considered purchasing a Remington 870 TAC 14 primarily as a fun range toy and relatively inexpensive truck gun. However, while doing some research, I’ve seen a lot of debate over the legality of using it as a “truck gun” and keeping it loaded in a persons vehicle. Because the ATF classified it as a “firearm” rather than a “pistol”, Is it legal to be loaded and carried in my vehicle? For what it’s worth, I have a TN HCP. Thanks.
  14. I went with the 29. Put the 10 round mag in for concealed carry and put the 15 round mag in for woods carry. Great pistol with plenty of versatility.
  15. Well, I finally took the plunge and bought the O-PAP a couple days ago from Buds Gun Shop in Sevierville. They were giving away 30 minutes of range time with the purchase, so I took advantage of the offer. I put 120 rounds through the rifle without a single FTE or FTF. I used both US made Tapco mags, IMI polymer mags and Romanian surplus mags with little or no mag rattle. I zeroed at 25 yards for a 25/225 yard zero and my first 4 shots were through the 10 ring, so I didn't even have to adjust the sights. Everything is lined up correctly with no canted sights or gas tube. As far as I'm concerned, this is a high quality AK with an exceptional price. A big thanks to all the advice/information from the above posters!
  16. Thanks Captain Whitewolf 001. After prior searches, I found that none offered specific answers to the above specific questions.
  17. Hello out there. Just considering the n-pap from Serbia and was curious to know if any of you had any experience with the import. Any issues with reliability, mag fit, or canted sights? Thanks in advance.
  18. Several years ago I bought a Springfield 1911 and had multiple feeding/extraction problems.  I sent it back to Springfield and still had the same problems.  Never could get a full magazine to feed properly.  Wound up selling it and have shot all Glock since.

    Yep. Sign me up.
  20. A guy I work with has recently offered to sell his 2nd Gen 17. It has the original paperwork, box, and is in great shape with only slight wear on the slide. I've looked all over the Internet already and either the forum posts are 4 years old or the pistol is in horrible shape sold in some old shoebox. Have any of you sold or bought one recently or know a reliable place to find current values? Thanks in advance.
  21. Just finished a lightweight build using this Spike's upper from Aim Surplus. Fired about 300 rounds through it without any problems whatsoever. Spike's dynacomp out front keeps the barrel down and and midlengh gas system makes it an incredibly soft shooter.
  22. After a meeting with a black bear in the Mountains of northeast Tennessee several years ago, I carry a Glock 29sf when hiking or camping. Plenty of power in a small package.

    AR Novice

Although there are a considerable number of resources on this site, and other forums, YouTube is a great resource. My first stop would be to the "SootchOO" channel. He has hundreds of quality videos up. Many include how to build or buy an AR and what things to look for. But like others on here have said, the first thing you have to decide is what is the rifle's intended use and then go from there.
  24. I was on the Palmetto State Armory site the other day looking for a lower parts kit for a new build. They're having their Easter sale and I came across their PTAC kit for $119.00 which came with the lower parts kit, buffer tube kit, moe stock and grip as well. I read some mixed reviews on the PTAC kits, but I have good news to report. Some reviews said parts were missing, incorrectly machined, or out of spec. My package arrived with all the parts sorted in several bags and everything was in place. It took me about an hour to get everything assembled into my Spikes Lower and it was flawless. Parts were coated with a thin coat of oil and quality was on par with the CMMG kit I've used in another build. No polishing or modifying was necessary to any parts and the trigger is just fine for any guy just wanting a quality carbine at a decent price point. From ordering to delivery was 4 business days. Overall, I'm impressed with these PTAC kits and for the price, it's hard to beat. If you're in the market for a kit, I'd certainly give them a try.
