I bought a Colt New Agent last week and finally got to the range with it today. After 15 rounds it broke, The trigger/hammer/safety mechanism refused to operate. My dilemma was: Send it back to Colt and go thru the mailing, waiting process or take it locally to a good gunsmith. I chose the latter, Currently it's at Lebanon Gun Shop with Ben and he says he thinks he can fix it (Burrs). I'm not angry about it but it just goes to illustrate that no matter what model, caliber, country of origin or brand - weapons manufacturing is not an exact science . . . . yet.

+1 Ditto, NEVER a single problem

Me too! I haphazardly dropped in at D&T Arms last Monday and a new Colt New Agent is following me as well. Now the hard part, finding a good left hand OWB holster for it. Perhaps David can help me when I pick it up tomorrow.

Need some input on an everyday carry pistol.

I agree with Sgt. Joe: Depending on what I'm wearing and time of year I carry the Sig P239 with extended Mag (7+1) or my Kahr PM9. I also have the SR9c which fits in my Galco 1911 OWB holster. For the Sig I have a custom made back pocket holster and a IWB Crossbreed. Good luck with your choice! -
They now have a 7 round extended clip for the little P238 too.

Dang fine Kit ! ! ! !

If you do decide to test one, find a later model. These are identified because of the raised ridge around the laser buttons / good luck!

I'm sure this will be a fine gun as Ruger is known for such. However as I looked at the specifications on this new model I measured them against my SR9c and find very little difference in size and weight. Just curious as to why this model and why now since the SR9c holds 3 more rounds for literally the same price?

I'm not saying everyone would have issues with it but . . . . I had bad Karma with mine and S&W was no help. Ended up giving it away-too embarrassed to ask money for it. Before someone asks: Slide Lock pin popping out during firing. Laser button issues. weak laser (very dim). Blo-back when firing. in general poor quality. Sent it back to S&W, kept it 4 weeks and didn't do anything!

I'm happy for those who had good experiences with this weapon. But for me who bought an early unit . . . Keep the Taurus! I bought one, had problems with it - sent it back to S&W because the laser buttons wouldn't work half the time. and the laser was very dim (changed batteries too) The worse thing was the slide lock pin occaisionally popped half way out during firing! I sent it to S&W for repair and it came back in same condition, I gave it away to a co worker and explained why it was free. It was truly my worst gun experience. :-\ I'll keep the Sig P238 for my 380 of choice, no problems and fabulous trigger!

I agree . . . . really good selection of quality guns for sale AND accessories! The store is set up well and they also have Ben . . . .A really good gunsmith. I found the prices very fair with a slight discount for cash. BTW, Dina is the lady and she knows her stuff, If you're a lady looking for weaponry, she's there to assist you too. David and associates run as good of a gun shop as any place I've been to in middle TN. New, used and trades plus a good selection of holsters as well. I'm glad they are in Wilson County, just another choice for all of us!

I made it over there today, man it was cold while waiting in line to pay. Fairly active attendance. I brought my newly acquired Kahr PM9 looking for a holder for it. It was a perfect outing for the weather! :-)

Yes- I broke it down when I got home and cleaned it. The hard part for me was getting the slide lock pin back in but it went quicker than the first time I put my SR9c back together. I really like this weapon for size/power ratio but the trigger on the SR9c is superior to me though.

David- I too fell "victim". I've had my eye on a PM9 since Thanksgiving but could never pull the trigger (pun intended) due to cost. But after reading your review yesterday I headed out this morning to see David Wilson at Lebanon Gun store and laid the money down. I then promptly took it to The Gun Room and pumped 200 rounds thru it with NO issues whatsoever!. I must say I hate the extended magazine and just wish they would have included two 6 round magazines instead. I ordered an extra one tonight online and will never use the 7 rd extended one again. The gun is simply marvelous though. Now I need to find a lefthand owb holster!
