  1. For me personally, Why give away your best advantage with an open carry?
  2. I love my Kahr PM9 but did not like the way the magazines stuck out the bottom of the grip. To me it looks like bad after thought and design. So, I painted the bottom 1/3 of both my 6 round magazines Krylon Satin finish black. The weapon looks SO much better now. I don't ever use the extra 7 round that came with the gun. It looks like an even larger mistake in a gun of this price range and class!
  3. Kimber Ultra Carry ll in a Kester OWB leather holster (left hand) :-)>
  4. My Summer Carry is either my Sig P238 380 or my Kahr PM9 9mm. I use Hornady Critical Defense in both
  5. I looked at the Zombie ammo. I have to seriously wonder if this is a marketing guise and that Zombie is really just Critical Defense with a lime green tip instead of red. Comments from anybody ? ? ?
  6. I went, Pretty decent show AND . . . no $5 parking fee!!! :-))
  7. Its the very same gun as the Sig P238. I'll stick with Sig over Colt after my bad experience with the Colt New Agent!
  8. Funny you should post now, I was out this weekend looking at one. But by the time I were to add night sights and an Ambi saftey it would cost as much as a Kimber so I am now looking at another Kimber instead.
  9. Happy alls well that ends well. I've never had a single issue with mine but the Colt New Agent 45 was another story!!!!!
  10. Why spend $5 to park at the Fairgrounds? There's a gun show somewhere in Middle TN almost every week with the same vendors with FREE parking!!
  11. It's odd about all of our individual experiences and perceptions of local businesses. I've had nothing but issues with G&L at both locations and then really good experiences at D&T every time. I guess that's why we have so many dealers located in Middle TN. :-)
  12. I have two EDCs; My Kimber 1911 and my Kahr PM9. Two triggers as different as different can be. But you know what? I really like them both. As the man said the DA trigger is easy to get used to and I keep one in the pipe in my OWB holster when I carry it. Very nice looking weapon sir!
  13. I've seen quite a few "factory" mags for many different 1911's cause problems. Many times the Mags will "wear in" if you have the patience to keep using them. As for me I just buy several Wilson Combat or Ed Brown mags and generally the problems are solved. Even though I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry I think the Rock islands are a real good value for the $$$
  14. Lets see . . . . four gun shows in four weeks, $5 parking and $8 to get in . . . . . . . ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  15. Wow! I didn't know that one!! Thanks to all of you for your remarks :-)
  16. I'm familiar with the Castle doctrine and our rights as the law defines them in the use of deadly force. My question would be this: Hypothetically, what if you're sitting in your car at Wallyworld waiting on your spouse to finish shopping and two young perps walk up with a baseball bat and knife and try to gain access to hijack your vehicle. Would you be justified while fearing for your life to draw your weapon (if time allowed-assume here the car is not running). This is quite a bit different than just defending your property, these guys are ready to do bodily harm to gain access and the keys!
  17. Ours is simple: NO open carry, For concealed carry, Don't ask - Don't tell Many businesses have a no carry policy for their own employees but not for customers. They're afraid doing that would hurt business traffic! Don't think for a minute they don't run the statistics on the percentage of their customers who CC.
  18. Go for the RIA, they are getting quite a good reputation. I was told (can't verify though) that they use the old Colt dies and equipment to manufacturer them. In any event they are a very good value it seems. I had a Para once, but that's all I'll say here.
  19. You handled this nicely even though the shop keeper has the right to request you not carry. If he feels this strongly then he should post. My personal concern here is, why would you even want to open carry and give away your "edge of surprise" in a tactical situation? The other issue is people like this shop keeper/owner will now post and that will hurt everyone who carries.
