If the spots are as small as they appear in the photo , I believe I would try a little touchup with one of the cold blue products available. Obviously do this after the steel wool. I was always told to use 0000 bronze wool with lots of oil. The idea being that unnoticed steel wool frags could start the whole rusting process over again.

Let's see... I have had 3 XD's, 2 Champions, and 1 Compact. Currently I am running a stainless Champion. Yeah I kind of like them things! That having been said, the trigger pull on my currrent Champion was much worse than on one of the Phillipene knockoffs I tried (Rock Island?).

If I really wanted a certain gun, I don't think an $18 price difference would keep me from getting it. I figure my time and travel expenses traveling from shop to shop. or hassle of online shopping, wait time, transfer,etc, is worth at least that much money.

Last year when we were detoured through the Smokey Mtn National Park, we got to the Elk area a little before dark. Both sides of the road were lined with cars watching the elk hang out. Don't know how long they had been there, but I would guess they have the same habits as deer. Just bigger!

It is possible that someone could call in your firearms serial # as being stolen. As you can imagine this could cause you problems in the future. I personally don't worry to much about it.
