Well I got the Poll fixed, SoRrY again CASTER...............and yea I got it. You all are confirming what my original plans are. I really miss that Super, it was a fine shooting pistol and much moe accurate then I ever was. I do know that most of the parts will be Les Baer and some will be custom made by a friend. Its going to take some time but looking forward to the process

  4. I am planning my next toy. With the help of a good friend i am planning on building a 1911. This is something i have been wanting to do for a long time. I use to own a Colt series 70 38 super with a 5" slide and I loved that gun but it disappeared during my divorce. So tell me your thoughts, i am hoping to use it for IDPA type shooting.
  5. WOW Broylz loaded you up with info.I will agree with the Savage line and going with a model 10. Remington makes a great gun but why spend 2-300$ more when you can have the same thing with Savage. After market parts are available to make it what you want it. I would also go with a 243cal or 22-250. Here is a Pick of my Savage I just finished http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/47314-finally-got-it-together/
  6. Been working as I can afford it on my latest toy. I am very satisfied with the way it turned out and if it shoots half as good as it looks I will be very happy Its a model 10 savage action 243 cal with a Green Mountain barrel 1/9 twist molley coated 90/11 degree f-class crown sitting all flat black cerakote sitting in a Bell and Carlson tactical stock optics= Osprey 10-40x50 tactical scope with range finder Has a Harris bi-pod to hold it up Notice the bolt, Custom bolt handle by; Gordon Cant wait to get it to the range
  7. I like it
  8. I have been on the sight 2 times today and didnt see it, If I had i would have bought it

    Soon to be new purchase

I agree, You are making a HUGE jump in guns. If you want to try a 1911 for a while get you a RIA and a good holster and see if it fits you. RIA has a great product for the money, I went that route and ended up not carring a 1911 but still love taking it to the range. Good Luck With what ever you choose
  10. Im in, With work and family its been a busy winter cant wait
  11. awesome thanks
  12. I am wanting to build a target rifle using a Remington 700 action in 243. I cant find a blued bull barrel. Iv checked on Midway and Brownwells they have stainless but not blue. Any help would be appreciated. Im also.....TRYING....to make my own stock:rolleyes:. I do alot of wood work and i am laminating Black Walnut and white oak together. not sure how this is going to work but I have always wanted to try.
  13. Im pretty sure I had the taller ring in the back on my M77. I fought with that for a while to get my scope to line up right. pm sent

  16. Welcome to TGO
  17. Insurance is King but only as good as your records you keep on your firearms. I had several stolen out of my car (locked and parked in my drive) but I did not have the serial numbers for each gun documented..........so I could not prove their value. I too took a brow beating from the local police. I now have a good safe with pictures and serial numbers of each gun I own down loaded on my computer and backed up on a flash drive that is in another safe. Having your guns locked in a safe is not a law, but I think you owe it to your self to protect what is yours. My CC is cocked lock and ready to roll, the rest are just locked.
  18. I was afraid of that

  20. My front rest is adjustable both up and down along with right to left. I do use a back rest that can be moved forward to raise the mozzel or back to lower the muzzel. This is only used to move the muzzel very little, most movement is off the front rest.
  21. Mine will go from 3'' to 7.5''. off the table
  22. Height of rests depends on you and what is comfortable for you. When we (my son and I) shoot. I like mine about 2 inches higher then my son but we are the same height.
  23. Last year while Bow hunting close to LBL I had several go buy me while in the stand. I was shocked to see them this far north
