  1. Trying to see if anyone else has had problems, or hopefully a solution to the maybe death of my Tac Solutions dedicated upper AR22 problem. So, it ran super smooth for the 1st 2k rounds or so. Then, I brought it out to the range last week. Click bang, click nothing. ... and this went on with me manually cycling the bolt and the bolt working to eject the spent casing and putting a fresh one in the chamber then click and no bang, this happened every time it went off and then the next round not. (click bang, click nothing..but 6 of 10 times its just click nothing) -- I've cycled 3-4 different kinds of ammo with the same results -- I've changed two different lowers with the same results -- I've tried all 15 of my blackdog mags (brand new & used) same results -- I actually ordered the Tac Sol AR22 maintenance kit and changed out the recoil spring, and striker ... same results ???? So, is it dead, a new carrier needed? Other??? Would appreciate any ideas or help. THANKS MUCH!
  2. the 1st show there was GREAT! ... the one's that followed were nothing to rave about. w/ that said.... my wife and I might drop by to see what's there for her CCW options.
  3. I saw in my last issue of NRA Rifleman, and American Gun Shows website, I never went but I heard from a gun shop conversation some from KY, TN area were there and were quite upset about it.
  4. hmm. Gun show advertised in Hendersonville TN Dec 17-18th ... seems like the promoters knew it was cancelled, but some of the public didn't .....and the stupidity of these shows continue. :wall:
  5. Prayers lifted ...to you and yours.
  6. Santa isn't banned, but Obama, Pelosi, Holder, and Reid...are!!!! ; )
  7. I've had outstanding results with my Tac Solutions 22lr. dedicated upper. I believe 1/12 threaded...comes on and off easily to switch to 5.56/.223. I've had 3+K rounds thru mine and still runs like a champ. I've heard good things and some troubles from the CMMG and Tac Solutions drop-ins. The M&P 15-22 from all the reviews seems like a solid set-up. (a lot of variations from the most simple to the camo/ muzzle brk threaded barrel with vltor buttstock) The Sig .22lr rifle (522) has also been rated very high on the list. I've only shot that one a few times and it ran 100%. I've only used the blackdog magazines so far but they have been 100% as well. I'm not going to get bench-rest accuracy with these, but that was never my goal in the 1st place... They all are fairly accurate for .22lr rifles.
  8. THANKS FOR THE LINK...!!!!
  9. After I give all my gifts..... I think ...just like 'jello' there's always room for some AMMO.
  10. Ray-Ban aviators. And various Oakley .. (m-frame, bottlecap, etc.)
  11. Does anyone have experience with either one of these 1" mounts ??? If so, I'd appreciate any of your opinions on them. THANKS MUCH. [h=1]Burris AR-PEPR Quick Detach Scope Mount 1in 410344[/h] Nikon M-223 mount
  12. I agree with Dolomite_Superfly, the M&P Sport is completely hard to beat for your 1st AR much less 2nd. I second his advice on what your going to use it for... that is a PRIMARY consideration. But once that is done, the rest is as other's have said 'is easy.' I just completed my 4th AR, and they are the 'barbie-dolls' of the carbine world...lots of configurations and options if you do decide to change it for another purpose down the road.
  13. Looks good....nice cerakote.
  14. I understood the metaphor, and 'yes' I agree that some of the material (especially some legal aspects) is dated... I was trying to refer to tried/ experience of Massad Ayoob as one of many excellent resources for the responsibility of a CCW mindset, action, and re-action. Thank you for further clarifying Mr. Ayoob's dated material.
  15. I have an aluminum 6061 tri-rail with magpul xtr rail covers and a Surefire X300 on it. It actually has some play to the foregrip but I've never had trouble with the action or keeping my shots and sight picture spot on. I actually think my hogue forend fits a little better, but I haven't switched back to it yet. btw: I second the Elzetta (light) and mount.
  16. Hmm. I guess a 'thick' enough 'law book' can save a life too, kevlar covers and all. ; )
  17. Please re-read his second sentence.... I do understand that some of his information especially in the book I cited is dated.
  18. Doesn't mean the information is invalid or not helpful for you in the decisions to use Lethal Force. And taking time to learn about this responsibility before hand is better than learning about it while your in a court, or God forbid jail.
  19. I'd like to suggest some readings and research on the subject. Massad Ayoob (In the Gravest Extreme or The Gun Digest Book of CCW), and Massad Ayoob Group. He's been on the subject since 1960's. This and OF COURSE other good 'training' courses should apply. Courts can be turned against you, & so can the law. HCP or not, its a great responsibility to have and carry. Remember although you do not have an obligation to retreat, but by using "LETHAL FORCE" one must be prepared for the consequences and aftermath. KNOW YOUR "UnLock Codes" for the use of Lethal Force by heart and burn them to your memory: Lethal Force should be your final option. (A.O.J.) 1. Ability (the attacker HAS the ability to do you harm or death, the disparity of force is in attackers favor) 2. Opportunity (the attacker is capable of immediately employing that harm/ power) you cannot de-escalate or avoid. 3. Jeopardy (the intent of attacker is reasonable or prudent to conclude that attack's intent is to kill or cripple you and/ or yours) Just my 2 cents, be smart, be careful out there.
  20. Good riddance....
  21. Saw another safe, for those who might need a smaller safe Lowe's has this one. Centurion by Liberty Safe 12 Cu. Ft. Black Gun Safe 1200-1400°F (CE12 economy models include one layer of 5/8" fireboard or 55000 BTUS) Palusol heat-expanding seal included on all models, expanding up to 7 times it size in a fire at 212°F. Don't settle for inferior door seals used on cheaper safes. Durable gloss textured black finish with satin chrome hardware Defensive barrier of four active 1" diameter bolts 20 min. fire rated Combination lock 3-in-1 Interior 4 - 1" Locking bolts 12.2 cu.ft. 1 year in- home warranty 14 long gun capacity 14 gauge steel body $297 from $397 --- I think its in-store only but I haven't checked. Black Friday deal. $325 otd seems like a pretty good deal.
  22. whoa, niccce! Sweeet, time for some 'irons.' Thanks for the head's up!
  23. Ya I just saw the 'paper' advertised ad.( Save $30-200 on safes) Got to check IN-Store if your store stocks these safes...I saw that mine was advertised only in our Sunday paper, and ONLY further advertised IN-Store. as a pre-blk Friday item.
  24. Awww... he either mis-read his teleprompter again, or couldn't speak or think without it properly... Either way its another BIG FAIL for Barack Hussein O.
  25. Its actually only to 11/23 according to the IN-Store advertising ,(11/20/11) Around $437 otd. It isn't a digital lock, but I tried the manual combo and its fairly smooth, just like my high school locker was...ha ha ha Its listed on Amazon for $1039.22 plus some change. So, ya I might be back @ my store Monday. UPDATE: NOT the 'elite' model, but it works and still 50% cheaper than any of the prices I've found...so its all good.
