  1. My guess is that TGO doesn't host any matches because it's not a Gun Club with a Gun Range AFAIK. I would guess it doesn't sponsor matches due to $ There has been atleast one attempt to pull together a TGO IDPA match at Brush Creek per the link below. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/competitive-shooting-sports/5729-fifth-sunday-idpa-lite-shoot-tennessee-gun-owners-members.html I didn't attend myself and can't speak to how it went. I think most of the folkes that read this topic participate in matches in their area and need to talk it up on the TGO and network at the matches. If there is anyone in the Nashville area that is interested in getting into 3 gun Competitions I'm willing to help anyway I can.... Mike
  2. It was a great match with near perfect weather. Below is a link to the scores sorted by stage for those that may be interested.... http://mcfooter.atspace.com/MCTC%20Nov%207th%202009%20by%20Stage%20.htm
  3. I plan on being in Gallatin also but I won't be shooting Irons. I mostly shoot a low power variable scope...
  4. I don't shoot Bullseye but these guys in Columbia are the only ones that I know of that do or did close to me. MATCHMASTERS Their website hasn't been updated in awhile. I you get the urge to shoot some Tactical 3 Gun I may be able to help you:)
  5. Yes, you are suppose to pay sales tax on local purchases. Even if you are getting Junk Silver (Pre 1965 Dimes, Quarters and 1/2 Dollars) Which is a scam of sorts as you are trading money for money but that's how it is.....
  6. These guys are not in Chattanooga but they have a good rep. and I have bought from them before. They also have some of the best prices I have found.... GOLD, PLATINUM, PALLADIUM AND SILVER BULLION COINS FOR SALE Of course Gold & Silver are up a bit at the moment but I think everyone should have some amount of physical G&S just keep in mind Silver is BULKY...
  7. People that were there and that are close to Rob say he used a factory recoil rod and spring and can do it with their guns. The next time I see him at a match I will have to ask for a demo...
  8. If I were you I would consider following this lead atleast for handguns... Welcome To Scholastic Steel Challenge
  9. NeuralFizz, Henry Horton State Park is in Chapel Hill which is Marshall County and unrelated as far as I know to Henry County Gun club...
  10. Personally, I wouldn't be in a big rush to follow USPSA rules for 3-Gun. Most of the best 3-Gun Matches in the US are "Outlaw" or IMG style. YMMV:)
  11. Mark, Where are the HCGC 3 gun Scores posted. I looked on your website and didn't see them but I could have missed them. Also can you answer my question in this thread http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/competitive-shooting-sports/23035-hcgc-3-gun-shoot-27-june-2009-a.html Thanks, Mike
  12. Trigger, You're making this this match and drive more tempting. I took a look at the HCGC site and noticed lots of rules.... you may have just copied most of them but 5.6.8 is a bit out dated particularly when you have 5.6.3. Do you have any plans to inforce 5.6.8? My main SG happens to break that one.... 5.6 Shotgun – Limited & Tactical Class 5.6.3 Maximum loaded rounds shall not exceed 9. 5.6.8 Magazine tubes may not extend more than one inch (1.00 inch) past the muzzle.
  13. John, At what age / size are kids able to start shooting Skeet / Trap? I know my son is to small at this point but just curious. I'm guessing around a 100lbs to shoot a 12g...
  14. I did see most of 20/20 tonight and as expected it was the Propaganda to condition the sheep that we need more gun control. Of course I’m kind of biased myself but that show did us no good. I believe I saw an advertisement for a similar show coming up on 60 minutes also.
  15. +1, Enos is a wealth of information by some of the games best players.
  16. Just an FYI for those in a reasonable distance to the Maury County Gun Club in Columbia, TN. Per the newsletter it looks like they will be holding a few IDPA style matches again this year. The website http://www.maurycogunclub.com/ isn't updated yet but here's a clip from the newsletter. Disclaimer: I am a MCGC member and RO at the club if you have any questions I will try to help. Maury Co Gun Club will be hosting 4 pistol matches this year. The dates are: 4-18-09, 5-16-09, 9-19-09, 10-17-09. These dates are on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Registration begins at 8:30 am and closes at 8:50 am. There will be a new shooter meeting at 8:50 am and the match will begin at 9:00 am. The cost will be $15.00 for club members and $20.00 for non club members. Second gun will be an additional $5.00. Set up will be on the Friday before the match date for anyone who would like to assist. These matches are not IDPA sanctioned but we will follow IDPA rules.
  17. I agree that a G19 is a good multi purpose size but I no longer believe that a multi purpose gun is the route to go.... I think if you like Glocks you need 1 to carry, The smallest G26/27 1 for the house/Bedroom, Med/Lg G17/22 1 to shoot/compete with, Lg G34/35 Of course you will need more than three but you get the idea. I also like to keep my Carry and House guns clean and ready to go which gets to be a PITA if you do much shooting... YMMV
  18. That's what I thought before McCain got the nomination and that's what the media wanted us to think. I have since watched several of his videos on youtube and other places and now think he was by far this countries best hope for getting out of some of this mess we are in....YMMV... That's of course if you don't want to live in the USSA. You can see a few of them here.. http://financialtruth0.blogspot.com/
  19. Maury County Gun Club allows FA http://www.maurycogunclub.com/
  20. I reccomend shooting the cheapest ammo you can find that will RELIABLY run in your gun. I like 115gr Blazer...YMMV
  21. I actually did look for thread on the subject before I posted but I obviously didn't look hard enough and or in the correct location. I wouldn't have guessed it was a technical difficulty type issue. A while back when our friend the Rabbi was here he seemed to like to delete his post when items were sold and I thought that was the new trend.
  22. I'm noticing a lot of posts deleted these days. Most (maybe all) of them seem to be in the Trading Post area. I'm failing to understand why these post are being deleted. I think they should remaining for future reference of prices and buyer/seller commentary. Atleast that's how it seems to be done on most forums. The arguments may be that their out of date or HD space needs to be conserved but at the moment 6 of the 20 posts on page 1 of the Firearms Section is a deleted post. It just doesn't seem right to me but YMMV...
