  1. More Wisdom that still applies today..... [ame]http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1777069922535499977[/ame]
  2. I can't believe you have admitted this and even put it in writing. We will be getting mileage from this for years to come....
  3. NFA == National Firearms Act which I believe started in 1934 requiring people to register Full Autos, SBRs, SBSs Supressors ect and pay a $200 Tax. All of the above are legal to own by the average guy / Non Felon by filling out the paper work and paying the $200 tax. Robert S. I hate to hear you are not leading the charge as I have told several people it would be a good match if you were involved. As for Robert F. I think he has a 11.5" SBR which I would let him shoot:)
  4. I don't think I have ever heard the phrase "Street Legal" Rifle or Shotgun only with vehicles to be driven on the street. I have seen several matches only allow select fire weapons ie "No Full Auto" which may or may not have been the intent. I must also say I would like for all my competitors to shoot Short Barrelled Rifles and Shotguns (SBR's & SBS's) as I'm convinced there is no advantage in an AVERAGE 3 Gun Match YMMV;) EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS, RULES, PROCEDURES, AND ROUNDS COUNTS MUSIC CITY TACTICAL SHOOTERS 3-GUN MATCH - 11/01/2008 Equipment Requirements & Rules: - IDPA Divisions will apply for handguns. - IDPA Rules will apply for handguns. - IDPA Rules will apply for handgun holsters and magazine carriers. - Any street legal shotgun (No NFA firearms) may be used. - Shotguns may use open or optical sights. - Shotguns with box magazines will be subject to IDPA magazine change rules. - Shotshells will be limited to #7 ½, #8, or #9 shot only. - Spare shotshells may be carried on shotgun, pockets, belt carrier or arm carrier. - Any street legal rifle (no NFA firearms) may be used. - Rifles may use open or optical sights. - .223 or 5.56 minimum caliber rifle ammunition must be used. - No round larger than .30-06 / .308 may be used. - No magnum rifle rounds may be used. - No steel core or tracer ammunition may be used. - No magazines with a capacity greater than 30 rounds may be used (no snail drums or Beta Mags). - Spare magazines / ammunition may be carried on belt holder or in pocket. - Chamber Flags are required for all Shotguns and Rifles. 5. I can't see your image but I run a 20" HBar and it never feels heavy after the buzzer goes off. I would run what you have with Reliability and Zero being the main concern on all weapons. YMMV
  6. Maury County Gun Club is still accepting members The web site is limited but it has some information... http://www.maurycogunclub.com/
  7. Well that just cost me $80 mine expired 8/4/08 and I didn't realise it until just now.
  8. Very interresting Joe, Have you considered adding a 9mm option to the list? I can't say I'm down for one just yet but I have one on my short list.
  9. It looks like someone forgot to Renew/Pay up for the Domain name.
  10. Did I miss something? Are there gun laws that are working in Chicago? I can't think of anywhere I would avoid more except maybe NY City...
  11. I think Metal Detectors are the sign you have to watch for...
  12. The Price is Right and the number of stages looks good. Do you happen to have any electronic copies of your COF's. I would just come and see for myself but it's a pretty good haul for me... Also do you post your 3 Gun Scores? I see the IDPA posted. Thanks
  13. What time of the day is this party starting? I read all of the post and don't think it was listed. Are they taking up a collection ~$5 from nonmembers?
  14. Tungsten, Thanks for the Quick and detailed response. Your response seems simplier than I had thought it might be. My only (Main) question comes in with the definition of "Real Property" and your example of a Dollar. I was thinking "Real" property was land so I broke down and used the search function and found this... http://www.answers.com/topic/real-property?cat=biz-fin Law Dictionary: Real Property Land, including the surface, whatever is attached to the surface such as buildings or trees, whatever is beneath the surface, such as minerals, and the area above the surface, i.e., the sky. Burby, Real Property §§8-11 (3rd ed. 1965). See fixture. Originally, the distinction between real property and personal property did not depend upon the nature of the property, but rather depended upon the action by which rights in the property were vindicated. This distinction later evolved into the definition of real property as excluding personal property (which consists of chattels, or movable goods). An interest in a leasehold is sometimes treated as real property because it concerns land or buildings, and is sometimes treated as personalty because of its contractual nature. See Brown, The Law of Personal Property 10-11 (3rd ed. 1975). I hope you're correct and a Dollar bill will meet the requirement but courious if you have discussed this with a lawyer or anything? Thanks, Mike
  15. Has anyone seen a short list for creating a NFA Trust similar to the original post? I would do an internet search now but this is one of two gun websites my employer has not blocked.
  16. I would check out http://www.owlhollowgunclub.org/ first and see if it's within your driving distance. It will be your lowest cost and best availability. Then I would check with http://www.mctsclub.com/ who uses http://www.redriverhabitat.com/ for some of their IDPA matches and see what they might have to offer. Other Options beyond 45 Miles are http://www.maurycogunclub.com/ 200 yards Open Sat and Sun http://www.midtnshooters.com/ 100 yards Open except for Match days 300 Yard Range available through onsite Gunshop. http://www.ntps.org/ 150-200yards, Mainly a USPSA Club w/Limited availability http://www.gallatingun.com/ Closed to new members. http://www.rattlesnakeridge.org/index.html Don't know if they let you shoot there. Good Luck...
  17. There are places to shoot Rifles around Nashville. How long of a rifle range are you looking for? Which side of Nashville are you on? How far are you willing to drive to shoot?

    Texas Star

That was a pretty slick prop with the reversing direction. The Area 6 - 3 Gun had a similar "no shoot" contraption for one of the Shotgun stages. It had 2 "no shoot" Clays moving back and forth behind the Texas Star. I know I got one of them if not both.
  19. I will soon be moving to a coverage are similar to yours and would be interested in any Antenna information you come up with. Thanks, Mike
  20. Pistol will normally be less than 30 Yards and paper will be IDPA Targets. There is the potential for some steel and a 12pc plate rack with ~ 6" plates. Shotgun will be near the same yardage with Slugs on IDPA paper and Birdshot on Steel and Clay. Rifle will be mostly the same but up to ~125yds IDPA paper up close and steel at a distance. Mr. Slowsure likes multigun and seperating the men from the boys by throwing in a few twist TBD. Some things to think about but not get scared away by. Week Hand Pistol Week Shoulder Long Guns Shooting all 3 guns in a single stage Shooting one with another slung Shooting through low Ports (Not too Low if I help Setup) Shooting through and carrying through Cooper Tunnels Shooting ~125yds after running And just about anything else that can be safely done. The biggest thing you have to worry about is getting hooked and wanting to spend more money on 3 Gun Gear.
  21. I'm not sure about that round or the official rules but some matches say it must be a bottle neck rifle cartridge. Sounds good !! You can shoot a Mag fed 20 gauge in Open class if you like but since it's a bolt gun you might want to bring a few boxes of 12 gauge bird shot and some slugs. For clothes I would dress for warmth and comfort we had snow on the ground last Feb when we started. I shoot Wolf .223 all the time.
  22. awdbandito, Looks like you are the winner. The majority of people use a 5.56 AR-15 (no steel core ammo) and a 9mm is NOT allowed at this and most other T3G matches. If ammo prices keep going up we may need to start a 22lr classification. PM replied. Thanks, Mike
  23. awdbandito, It looks like the boss (Slowsure) has spoken and the Free Pass is yours if you want it. Please IM me your real name or post here so we will know who to look for. Also if you have any questions feel free to ask ....
  24. I'm still hopefull someone will come along and take us up on it. I doubt it will be Sunny and 70's but it will be fun none the less... Forrest, I noticed you sold your long guns so if you want to come play we can hook you up with the hardware.
