  2. Well...he's right....firearms are not for settling disagreements. But there are rather handy in defending yourself against a deadly attack....
  3. To be honest I'm not sure...and that is a good question. I'm thinking that maybe the speakers work may last a bit longer than the regular session.
  4. HB1796 now has a public chapter number... Public Chapter 435
  5. It's law.... Public Chapter 435
  6. The bill has now been enrolled (no, not sure what it means) and is now ready for the Speaker of the House's signature.
  7. Thanks everyone so far. The prices have dropped some. On one website I looked at a couple of months ago, the price is no $100 less. Still not sure what I'll do, but very much leaning toward going ahead and getting one tomorrow...
  8. I believe that has been widely discussed in seveal other threads....
  9. I think that is probably correct. But to clarify a little, although in TN you can OC or CC with your permit, the AG has said that a property owner can regulate the manner in which you carry on their property. In otherwords they can allow CC but not OC or vice versa.
  10. AFAIK they don't have to ban carry in every park under their control. However if the ban carry in a park, then that whole park is off-limits. They can't allow carry in some parts but ban it in others within the same park.
  11. If this has been asked before I appoligize, but I don't spend a lot of time in the long gun forum.....mainly because I don't have any long guns, as of now anyway? So what, if any, opinion do y'all have about the Romaninian WASR-10 AK-47? From what I've read around on the net, some people really like them, don't have any problems with them and seem to really enjoy theirs. Others act like they wouldn't have one if you gave them one. Just wanted to hear from the folks on here. Thanks
  12. Welcome
  13. Welcome
  14. If you're just wanting to shoot it, then you need to go to some other set of woods besides a WMA
  15. Way back in 97 when I got mine...lol, they did the fingerprinting at the DOS station when you filed out the application. You had to make an appointment....the closest station to me was not accepting appointments for 3-4 months down the road. So I drove 100 miles or so to go to Nashville to get it done to save a few months before I would even start the wating for a couple-three months. So overall I think the whole thing has got a bit better...
  16. The defense of property laws is what has made me really consider TX at times.
  17. Welcome
  18. Last I knew JayC had contacted them and was waiting for a response. But AFAIK there is no blanket law/regulation that prevents carry in National Forest. It appears to be a location by location thing.
  19. No Problem... I will keep watch on it and post any updates....
  20. That does seem to put what he said in a little bit of a different light... If you've got someone who is about to go out and basically look for situations to use his firearm, he needs to be backed down a little. As far the lady goes....I'm just tired of dealing with these people...lol
  21. Well yesterday tomorrow was today. But there is no change on the status page.
  22. Actually a judge can't just throw it out. From the same court case I was referencing TN Supreme Court decision in the previous post. Once charged, whether a person acted in self-defense or not is a matter to be decided at trial and not in a pre-trial hearing by a judge. So if the DA charges you....you are going to trial. However 39-17-1322 still allows the LEO to not even arrest you in the first place or it also allows the DA not to charge you.
  23. The TN Supreme court has already said a person can still be charged. By the very nature that is says or convicted...the only way to be convicted would be to be charged. 39-17-1322 really needs some work done to it at some point.
