  1. Well that does make sense to some degree....since a lincense is required to CC in VA....but not to OC. Guess it would need to be obvious OC otherwise it might could be CC and need a license.
  2. That's the way I see it.
  3. Dang.......is we gonna have to start talking goodly to be able to post in hear now?
  4. All of these answers are just my opinion of course. 1. According to http://opencarry.org/ there is no OC in SC period! 2. I take it the same way you do. 3. I would say no. The code says "residence". I have always taken that to mean a privately owned home. If you were going with a friend to someone's house you didn't know...you would need to secure permission from them before entering their house armed. 4. I honestly don't know. But I would say it would not be good and that you would loose your HCP at least. You would not be able to buy any more guns. AFAIK all the forms for HCP and/or buying a fiream simply ask in you have been convicted of a felony...it doesn't matter where.
  5. I agree, even though it is against the law...they will do it if they see fit.
  6. How about "How I kissed a$$ to the Vice-Presidency!" That is of course if Obama is that stupid...
  7. Oh I agree it probably has happened (never and always are rare) but just no real way to prove.
  8. Merged.... Don't ask me how the sadface got in the title......
  9. My mistake. I didn't see where he had quoted the part about "taking your gun and using it against you" I thought he was talking about the argument that you will be targeted first because you OC. But I would still argue the times that an officer gun is taken from him and used against him are more when he is actively engaged in LE duties, transporting/guarding a prisoner, wrestling with a suspect after a traffic stop and such as opposed to when he is sitting at the restaurant having lunch. My main point is the bad things that happen to a LEO who OCs are more because of his position and actions as a LEO not simply because he OCs. Can the same thing happen to a HCP holder? Of course....but not as likely.
  10. I see how much people really pay attention to sig lines...that link has been part of my sig since almost day 1 I joined...lol
  11. Yep...IL is defiently an avoid at all cost.
  12. Anytime you are going to be travelling out of state a good place to check is Handgunlaw.us They have the list of off limits places for all 50 states, info about must inform or not and links to each states laws as well.

  14. I know you were being slightly sarcastic already, but Security is there to enforce the policies of the place they work for, not for the protection of the patrons, although they like it if you assume that.
  15. Yep...that 6 months will fly by before you know it....
  16. An officer being shot while attempting to arrest someone or incident to a traffic stop or serving a warrant or any other time actively engaging in law enforcement duties is a little different than if he gets shot while waiting in line at Wendy's. Both happen and both are tragic, but I'd venture to say that the largest majority of LEO shootings involve the first set of circumstances, not that later.
  17. I hate to sound like someone else...but if the government wanted paperwork on FTF deals they would require it. I could see the government saying, if you got all this information from them, you should have known they were an ex-felon, the gun you bought was stolen etc..... As long as you both feel good about the transaction and have no obvious reason to suspect the other..it almost seems the less you know the better. Plausible deniablity.
  18. Ah...ok Lincoln, thanks. So does 57-4-203(k) Trouble is that sign is outdated though as you can carry where it is only sold and taken off the premises. Also it seems to only affect places that serve liquor, not beer. Good analogy on the speed limit/ticket
  19. LOL...+1 on Chuck
  20. I agree how your carry yourself, head up/head down, aware of your surroundings or oblivious to what's going on can make you appears as a hard or soft target regardless of carry or not. And that OC does not automatically make you appear as a hard target, and that OC with the tendencies of being a soft target is a dangerous situation. Oh...and I've known several LEO's that OC of duty...even had their badge on their belt. .....one even about 3 counties over at the cellphone store with me.
  21. That's great GhstFace38....I'm glad you and ones like you are the majority out there.
  22. Thanks buddy...you're always there for me...
