  1. Everytime I see that video...it just gets me so damn upset
  2. The two DL stations I've been to (Jackson and Savannah) did have proper signs posted.
  3. Unfortunatley though...a search of the linked document doesn't show a Sweenys BBQ So must not serve Liquor by the drink, but only beer.
  4. Yep, but things change... No 55 speed limit, to a 55 speed limit, to back to no 55 speed limit. $1.00 per gallon diesel, bad interstates through AR..oh wait....I-40 is still bad the AR....lol
  5. True, but it gives other active members who read their post that they either post just to read their own words or that they may have some sense.
  6. I can't say I've felt like this over other's perceived knowledge of firearms, because in all honesty I don't have a very wide range of knowledge myself. But I do know where you are coming from in general when some just KNOW something is right although there is no way it can be. What is real frustrating is when show these people something in black-and-white and the still will not accept that there position even has the faintest possibility of being remotely somewhat incorrect.
  7. You are right, you can not legally carry in a public park. Probably why the OP didn't ask about carry in a park, just asked what others knew about the park.
  8. Remember this is a list of places with a State issued Liquor License. It does not include places with a City or County issued Beer License (unless they also have a liquor license from the state).
  9. I keep several things on my password protected jump drive I have on my key chain. Could just plug into the USB port of any computer at the PD and pull the info right up.
  10. That is incorrect...state buildings have to be posted like any other. The only difference is, when 39-17-1359 was ammended in 2000 it said any signs at goverment building that were already posted and substainly simillar could continue to be used. See 39-17-1359© Now to answer the orginal question...first I would agree the answer is somewhat moot, because I don't think anyone in their right mind would try to carry in there. But "technically" I would say it's not legal if every entrance is not posted. The law says "the notice shall be posted at all entrances to the premises that are primarily used by persons entering the property" Also AG Opinion 07-43 says the "International Circle and Slash wiht a Gun" is not suffecient by itself. So you might could beat it in court...but probably not with the officer on the scene.
  11. Not sure what you mean by "Tennessee motor vehicle annotated". Now Title 55 of the T.C.A. deals with Motor Vehicle Laws. But I'm sure the old law was a Federal Reg, not State anyway. ...and maybe 15 years ago it was true....but times change and I'm sure not everything told in driver's school is 100% correct.

    Awwwww.....I knew you really cared...
  13. Welcome from 30 miles to your south
  14. I do agree with you as well. Can you share where the one instance of it happening occured? Of course you'd be surprised how many numnuts might be out there...or in here for that matter...lol I hope your story remains fictional, but some would see it become reaility.

    No smilie with that?
  16. DavidD...I agree your story is possible. I am a little curious about the first part. I've read seveal post that say they think some improper signs are a "comprimise" (to use your word) and they may be, but I would be curious to know just how many situations are like this? Of course I admit there isn't really much of a way of finding out. I truly think the majority of improperly posted signs are just the owner's not knowing the law. But as you this is simply my opinion. Of course...I'm not going to actively try to get them to change their signs either.

    Ignore List...

The ingnore feature does have purpose...If someone was harrasing someone, although a report to an Admin or Mod, should take care of that...or if you simply do not care to read what someone else has to say. I too have friends who I have different opinions about some things on. I think resonable, intelligent people can have different views and still be friends or at least fellow members of an internet forum. As long as the debate/discussion is kept to the ideas/views and doesn't become about the person. Of course that is where the resonable & intelligent thing comes in...

  19. I thought this thread was to teach the Anti-'s how to spot us?
  20. As far as Wal-Marts go....I have never been able to get a 100% clear answer about whether there is a corprate policy or not...the times I've been told there is a corprate policy I have seen that they go by state law on OC or CC also have seen that they will allow CC (where legal) but reserve the right to restrict OC. So who knows for sure. I am a little bit familar with the case tcampbell is speaking of. In fact the TFA uses in a letter generator it has to give to business that prohibit carry. But if I remember the case right the one thing that sticks out is the Management of that store was faimilar with a dangereous situation (previous robberies) and did nothing to correct it. So not sure if a property owner would have liabilty if there wasn't a known of pre-exsisting danger that they failed to address. I'm not sure a court would see simply prohibiting carry as creating a dangerous situation...although IMO it does. Now...I admit I'm not going out and trying to get places with anti-carry policies to post proper signs, but I have to say, to some degree if a place is anti-carry then I do think they should have it out there for all to see (just another reason I want a state required sign that is large and obnoxious:D). I guess it's because I hope that even those that don't carry, but are pro-gun, pro-2A, or just pro-self-defense would lobby the manager to take down the signs... but I admit that is not likely to happen.
  21. It will never be settled here...... To me both sides have good arguments..and both are right in certain situations. But I've noticed that in general, the majority of the opinions on gun boards are at least "not in favor of" if not against Open Carry. Other than on Opencarry.org of course. A good place for Pro-OC people to discuss things if you like.
  22. Have to agree...not pinkish here.
  23. That is possible. This is possible as well. That is fine and you're right..we all have opinions and feel we know what will work best of us. It just seems that those that have an opinion that OC is ok, or best for them take heat for it and are told horror stories of how they will be shot first. Probably true....at least there is always the internet as you say.
