  1. I think it depends on the jurisdiction and what is available.
  2. I think most state park employees (at least the rangers) know the law...although guess you could find a rouge one by chance.
  3. At least 2 here on the pre-order...perhaps more depending on the deadline.
  4. They're not....you are buy choosing to come onto their property.
  5. Probably both.... But still goes back to what I said in another thread, I really didn't see where we'd have much input on who they picked among themselves in the first place. Sort of like Canada trying to tell us who to elect for president just because they trade with us or something.
  6. I agree... While this probably won't be a "good" session for firearms legislation...I haven't heard anything to make me think we would loose anything we have now either.
  7. bnoland...you're right... I got a little off-topic and got to talking in general and not so much on the OPs specifc topic.
  8. From what I can tell you can shine a light on the animals in bold all night long if you want...it's only deer that 70-4-110 applies to. Wildlife laws don't apply just to hunting, but for the general welfare of wildlife. Locating a deer's habitat at night so you can hunt it the next day doesn't require you to be armed or hunting at night. Which no more than I know about hunting and wildlife is what I figure this law is trying to prevent. As you say though, the trouble is the TWRA officer has no way of knowing whether someone is shinning the deer for that reason or not.
  9. 70-4-110© says it is a Class B misdemeanor, think that is more than a $50 fine. But I agree, happening to catch a glance of a deer in your light isn't a problem, it's when you are trying to locate one.
  10. Well again this really didn't apply when you were a student, but they have got you thinking even now they can for any reason. I have seen LEOs use "verbal judo" all the time. LEOs ask all the time, "Do you mind if a search you/your car etc..." So many people think they can't say Now. I rode with my brother one night...saw him ask this gal 4-5 times, she never said Yes...ended up she drove off. No before Dave chimes in, sometimes when they ask they already have PC, they just want to see your reaction. I don't care if people "knowingly" and "willingly" consent to something. But it is up to the person to be educated not for the LEOs to tell them.
  11. DING..DING...DING...DING... Winner!!
  12. Being told something doesn't make it fact or the law. Students are treated differently than non-student adults so comparing the two aren't always going to mean the same thing would happen in both cases.
  13. Are you a student? If so...then Yes, it seems searchers of you, your car, your possessions by school officials or LEOs have been allowed. I thought we were mainly talking about non-student adults....
  14. The law only mentions deer, not other wildlife.
  15. A dog hitting on a car gives a LEO PC to search....BIG difference than school officials searching a car for no reasons. A K-9 sniff isn't really a search in that sense, so yes dogs can sniff about anything, anywhere. As long as your friends didn't have an intent to go armed and weren't students they shouldn't have had a problem. But if my kids went to a school were this sort of thing went on routinely or I worked there, guess I would be a bit more careful of things.
  16. That is sort of what I thought. The only "intent" required is to shine the light on the deer. Not that you are doing so to try and kill it.
  17. I keep hearing this, but never have seen a law quoted or court case cited.... but if true guess I may go to jail at some point then....because I am not going to let some school official search my car just because I came onto school property and they think it would be a fun thing to do.
  18. I really don't think an employer can unlock your car and search it just because you have parked in their parking lot. Even if you have agreed to such a thing in some employee handbook, you could still revoke such consent at anytime. Of course this would probably get you fired, but my point is that many laws that protect individuals still follow them onto private property, even if the property owner doesn't have to honor your 'civil' rights.
  19. LOL...yep
  20. The find my iDevice is free for an iPhone 4 and iPad. It will work for iPhone 3GS and have heard if you add a iPhone 4 or iPad first then you can add a 3GS for free otherwise there is a charge for a 3gs. Don't 100% quote me on that though. I did have new text tones, but it says not all features will work on all devices....
  21. Yeah, may be. Kind of forgot they were just put up when I saw they were the old signs.
  22. Thought about it. But this is my first iPhone so just wasn't sure about it. Also wasn't sure if could still apply Apple updates afterwards.
  23. It is weird that they would put them up now.....maybe things really do filter slow through Walgreens' channels.....lol
