  1. Props to SWR - very easy to deal with and a great product. Also, we have Liberty Suppressors in Trenton, GA - http://www.libertycans.net/ Great custom work if you need something special.
  2. What are your thoughts for this Alumni shoot? Competition? Friendly Fire? Indoor? Outdoor? I'm always up to do a little shooting.
  3. Knox county mails all of mine back. BTW-Good call on a suppressor. My first was on a P22, and I also use it on a couple other .22 rifles. Your only complaint will be how much money you end up spending in the future on NFA toys.
  4. Are you referring to cans of ammunition? Linked or not I use damp-rid in my safe and have been pretty happy with it. I don't store my ammunition with anything, but usually ammo doesn't sit around for more than a year because I cycle it out.
  5. I shot a Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 and it was a fun little gun. It looks like they are less than $500 but more than $200. I personally recommend building an AR15 in 9mm, or try to find one used locally. They are more than $500 though. Good luck.
  6. Amsoil is good stuff, I use it in the race car but not usually on guns. I actually use a lot of spray on lithium grease, just give it a couple squirts here and there before going to shoot, and it makes the gun a lot easier to clean. It is a little more messy, but the grime never has a chance to stick. I also use CLP.
  7. Be wary of suppressed .45 Most .45 pistol cans need to be shot wet to be hearing safe. I suppressed a .45 AR-15 and ended up going integral just to achieve the level of suppression I was looking for. On my list for this year is a 9mm pistol of some sort, but who knows what else will end up in the safe.
  8. Check out www.silencertalk.com You have to sift through the BS, but you get a lot of good information from some key players in the industry. My only warning is that once you go down the suppressor/NFA path you'll never want to come back
  9. I vote we have an NFA section around here too. I've never bought anything /from/ Frank, but he was a very friendly facilitator. I'm sure he would take good care of a person. I'll throw out my recommendation for a 9mm SBR, suppressed. =)
  10. It's almost time!!! It looks like the weather is going to be nice too.
  11. Model 1 may be worth looking at. I've gone through several of their uppers and parts and have never had a problem. The barrels I got were never chrome lined, but that doesn't matter to me.
  12. You should build a lower as a 9mm, then register it as an SBR via a form 1, then supress it. THAT is what you should do.
  13. I'll probably be showing up at around 8 or 8:15 if that is OK. What kind of shotgun will I be borrowing?
  14. I would be up for 3 at $80-$85 plus tax and $10 support the TWRA fee. Just in case somebody is looking for a reason to do a group buy. I would be more than happy to do cash on the front end to a reputable dealer who might be thinking of doing a group buy.
  15. I'm really getting excited about this. I've never done any competetive shooting at all, so this might be interesting. I'm fairly familiar with both a pump and an automatic shotgun, I'll just have to have the owner of the borrowed weapon to give me a quick functional rundown of his rig. What distance are we shooting the pistol out to, and what size are the targets we have to contact?
  16. I'm all in now. The girlfriend is getting her hair done and she told me to go shoot. I'll use a .40 for a pistol, an M4-gery for the rifle, and I'll need to borrow a shotgun, unless a magazine fed bolt action 20ga will do? =) Is the attire just standard playing outside clothes? Can I use Wolf ammo for the AR?
  17. OK, PM sent. So, I can use a 5.56 AR-15, but not a 9mm AR-15, is that correct? Hrmmmm.
  18. I think this might be fun, but I don't really have a shotgun that I can use. I have a .40 Beretta with a couple mags for a pistol, and am not too sure of the right rifle to use.

    YUGO M70B1

I picked up an AB2 NIB with sling/bayonnette and a magazine for $400 about 2 years ago. It has the wood furniture and black plastic pistol grip. It has been a great shooter. If you keep your eyes open in the Equipment Exchange on AR15.com you can find them for around $450 or so right now. I just found one: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=122&t=492949

    Hand Gun Permit

I got mine about 7 years ago and it took almost a full 90 days.
  21. Nice present. I love mine, and it is pretty darn accurate given my skill level(which means I don't have much skill)
  22. Congrats and welcome to the club. Best case scenario - It saves your life one day. Worse case scenario - You spend LOTS of money on ammunition and other guns because you realize how much fun it is to sling lead at inanimate objects. Or maybe that is reversed....anyway, Have fun shooting.
  23. The AMD-65 I believe, was designed as a Hungarian tankers weapon. It is very small, even with a 16" barrel for the states. It is a 7.62x39, and most come with a 20 round mag. It takes some practice in order to make efficient mag changes with the 30 rounders because of the foregrip.
