We are still awaiting a decision from the board at their next meeting. As for me I have been carrying for several weeks now CC at work. If anyone has noticed they are not saying anything. I try not to go against the rules but we have so much crime in our area and shootings every week that im not taking a chance. I just cant believe if Mr. Bad Guy comes in he is going to give me a chance to run to my car and retrieve my weapon.

I am going through this at work as well. We work in a tough part of town. We have had several too close for comfort instances in the last year. I took it to our HR and she took it to the president and now he is taking it to the board. I had let him shoot a .410 my father gave him back a few years ago maybe at nine. We lived in the country then but moved around to the city and couldn't shoot. Now we are back in the country and he is showing an interest in guns and hunting. He asked last week to shoot my pistol and again this morning so we loaded up and went to guns and leather. Also Santa has a 12 gauge surprise under the Christmas tree this year. Of course now he has been looking through the shooting wish books telling me of all the different pistols he wants. Took my thirteen year old to the range to send a few down range on a .380 I have been working on. It was a bust but we had a great time shooting my edc Taurus Millennium pro 9mm. Dont ask don't tell on CC is fine with me and what I tend to practice. I spoke to HR today. She called me and wanted to let me know that she had spoke to the president of our company and voiced my concerns and others. He said he would bring it up at the next board meeting as they were who put that no carry in our handbook. One of the owners is not gun pro but I guess we will have to wait and see. She meets me at the door with a glass of sweet tea, doesnt ask me to do much inside the house and cooks supper every night. Nah I clean the guns, do the outside chores and drive Mrs. Daisy when she wants to go out.

I do not ever see us getting that relaxed. I will be happy just to not loose my job if someone notices my firearm when I bend over or reach for something.

I wouldn't have had the conversion if I thought my job would be jeopardized by it. we are a small family owned company. Lawyers and insurance could be why we have a gun policy but a lot has changed since the policy was put in place. The company changed location and I dont think the neighborhood was considered a threat when the building was built. Since then we have all seen different. What is your company policy on concealed carry at work? I ask because our current policy is not on the premise's. It is treated more don't ask dont tell we normally just leave them locked in the car. Last night as we were leaving a few were staying late and were freaking out trying to hurry and get all the doors locked. There had been a robbery and one of the three armed juveniles was on the run. The helicopter's were flying over and metro had the road blocked while they searched. Now this isn't the first problem around since I work off of trinity lane and brick church pike in north nashville. This morning I met with our human resources person about looking at out gun policy and allowing concealed carry to those with a permit. At the least allowing locked in our desk. She is going to ask questions and check other work policies to see. She is a permit holder but does not carry. But others in the office are anti gun. I would guess at least one third of our employees are permit holders. What are your company policies? How is it written in your hand book if there is one? Sent from my Droid X using Smoke Signals!
