  4. I dont think they would mind what you bring. there were several that used range rentals today. .22 was what several used and a few brought more than they needed. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

  7. Thanks for the replies! I was leaning toward the 12 gauge mainly because thats what I know. I spoke to my brother in law last night and he is bringing me his .22 rifle so I can help him work on shooting skills. I told my wife last night I dont know who is more exited him for getting to learn all this or me for getting to be a part of it.
  8. I hate to soundlike I have never done this before but. I haven’t been hunting since mydaughter was born 17 years ago. My 13 year old son has asked me to take himhunting. Of course I said yes but we have a few things to do first. I havesigned us both up to take the Hunter Safety Course next week. He is also goingwith me Saturday while I take my Carry Permit Class as an observer. I am going to talk with a few neighbors in the community and see about findinga good place to hunt next year. The last time I hunted was in Alabama with myFather and his hunting club. There we hunted with dogs and 12 gauges because ofthe close proximity of club members. The rifles stayed in the truck unlessneeded to stop the dogs from running. Ahh those were the days. The only Huntinggun I have saved over the years is a 30-30 I received a few years ago when myFather died. So now with the question. For a new hunter of medium build that would like to learn to hunt Deer andTurkey what affordable gun would you put in the Christmas Stocking? I wasthinking either a 12ga or 20ga pump but I am going off old memories. Thanks for your help. Brandon
  9. There were a couple of kids and .22's being run through when I was at Guns & Leather in Hendersonville Saturday morning. Was that any one here?
  10. you could be on to something here!
  11. Not when they pass me! I am 320lbs 6 foot bear of a man on a road bike.
  12. The video wasawesome! The comments not so much. I am an avid cyclist and ride as much as Ican. I do my best to follow all the associated laws. I have been pushed off the road multiple times by cars trying to squeeze inbecause the delay of waiting to pass me is more important than my life to them. While riding my bike I have never thrown items at passing cars but I havethings thrown at me all the time. Its real simple the ones that hate cyclist have never tried to enjoy cyclingand deal with the people that hate cyclist! If you want to see how courteous some drivers are then let’s go for a ride upGallatin Road in to Nashville. I have ridden all over Middle Tennessee and Iride as the laws are written to the best of my ability. I ride on the road asall cyclists should. The laws tell me to be as far right as is safe and to notride more than 2 abreast. I know not everyone follows the rules but after yearsof being yelled at and things thrown at you it is hard to put car driver’sfeelings up front.

there is nothing wrong with wearing the right equipment for the job at hand. i wear bibs and a cycling jersey when i ride and dont care what people think about how they look. but i'm not going to the range or shopping wearing them.

I'm a road bike. I have been riding for 2 years trying to become healthier. My father had 3 heart attacks before the 4th one took his life at 59. I decided then I would put up more of a fight than he did to get healthier and try to live long enough to know my future grand kids. With that said I love to ride and have ridden in the Tour de Cure the past two years in Springfield. I also rode in the sunrise century in Clarksville this year. I am not a fast rider but I love heading out for a 30 to 50 mile day with friends or family. I rode with Brandon yesterday on his 8 mile loop and will be meeting a friend Saturday in Gallatin for a 30 mile loop. If anyone is looking for a reason to go ride we have a small group that rides the greenways in Nashville every Monday afternoon. I try to ride on the weekends and would be happy to meet new folks to ride with some.
  20. thanks for the warm welcome fellas.
  21. I friend recommend to me that I needed to visit TGO over the weekend. I’m glad I did, having read plenty of good information and feel more knowledgeable already on the HCP. My wife and I are planning to get our HCP before spring. I have been around guns all my life as a hunter growing up and target practice as I got older. My wife on the other hand is very new to handling a gun but is excited about learning.
