  1. So the cave's are open to the public? I thought I had read where they weren't.
  2. Are you just basing that off of there site? I can't find anything anywhere else that says it's down. Even the ATF efile site seems to be up and going. Unless it just gives you an error message when you try to file or something. I didn't file until the 18th of this month though so I was well into April.    If you haven't you may go ahead and give it a shot.
  3. Ha ha I think they have a few more vulgar terms nowadays. Although I'm not sure if I'm still considered a kid so I may not be up to date.
  4. Sure was. I mean I had done it before but not on a more expensive gun. AR's aren't anything special though and I hope I have a long life ahead of me to buy plenty more.   I used brakleen (chlorinated I guess) on mine and a little of it had pooled up in the grip. When I took it down from the hanger this morning it dripped out onto the guard and the paint came right off. Of course it hasn't cured yet.
  5. Sounds like I might need to take a blanket for a nap at the falls!
  6. Well you will do a form 1 e-file for the SBR so I think you are good.
  7. Nothing like that is mentioned on the ATF site. It's possible that Silencer Shop only means for Form 4's since that seems to be all they report on.
  8. The wife and I are planning on getting up early Saturday and riding down to hike this trail. We will obviously be carrying food and water for the hike but I am wondering how strenuous of a hike it is.
  9. Also meant to ask you what you use to clean the gun. I have read CLP won't strip the paint. I'm sure Hoppe's will take it off though.
  10. Hmmm I don't see anything about E-File form 1's on there. There is a weird message about the ATF not taking any more e-file submissions though. Hopefully it won't take too long for your suppressor. I'm anxious to see how you will like yours. I am eyeing the same model.

  12. Man that looks good. And it had the "real" worn look and not the fake look some try to emulate. I still find myself babying this gun even though it's a cheaper build but this should take care of it. I actually went ahead and bit the bullet and di mine last night before I saw these pictures. I just used a couple of pieces of pine straw on mine so my outlines aren't as defined but that's what I was going for. All I have around my house are cedars and hackberrys and those wouldn't work too well. The wife said "It looks good but I can't believe you painted a $1000 gun". Not sure where she got that number from but more like $600 haha.
  13. Cool. I've done one before but it was a cheap .22lr. I don't mind some wear. Makes it looks like you actually use it. I just don't want paint coming off in big flakes. As with anything paint it's all about the prep.
  14. Any updates on how yours is holding up? I am getting ready to do mine and am just wondering if anything else should be taped up on it? I'm going to do the trigger but not the serial number or anything like that. Surely a small bit of paint won't effect how my MBUS's pop up.
  15. Wow that's pretty. I don't think I'd like the handle but the blade shape and look is gorgeous.
  16. I liked it a lot as well.
  17. Pretty cool business model you have at your store as well. You are further east than I normally go but good luck to you!
  18. You are absolutely right. That's why I am doing all of this. Not in panic mode but I know it's coming. I'll be buying plenty of powder and bullets soon as well.   I doubt I mind the little extra weight. Especially for the price. I'll also probably just find someone to drill/ream it out for me. Can't cost that much to do.
  19.   Yeah I did read that last night. I guess it just worried me that it's a no name barrel even thouguh I know where it came from. Seems that PSA is good about finding suppliers around the Carolina's and I haven't had any bad luck with their stuff yet. I ordered it last night so I'll see what happens.
  20. Just reread what you wrote. I won't be running subsonic without a silencer so that shouldn't be an issue. I can always drill it out one day if I want. Guess I will order it!
  21. By heavy do you just mean weight wise or something else? Sorry for being dense. I do plan on an adjustable block. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22.  It's true! I knew it.
  23. Come to find out it is made by DC Machine. 4150V chrome moly. .099" gas port.
  24. Seems like a good deal on a barrel in the length and twist I want but details are minimal? Is nitride ok for a 300 blackout?   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/300bo-pl-8-5-1-8-m-h-m.html
  25. 1-6 is a good idea. I didn't realize anyone made a 1-6......
