  1. Thanks for the offer but I won't hassle you with doing that. Honestly I can probably get an idea of what they will be like just tilting the gun. After looking online at them though I'm not sure I want that much sticking off the side of the gun.
  2. Maybe I can do a scope with offset irons. Never used those before though and they can't be easy to use.
  3. Tapatalk makes it sooooo easy I just can't not check in. I do wish we had more show and tell going on than we do.
  4. Oh it's getting one....eventually haha. As we all know they aren't cheap and I'm doing good to get the wife to let me do the SBR.
  5. As embarrassing as this sounds I'm just afraid that a scope will look funny on the short rifle...... :surrender: Paying all the extra crap I want it to look cool too! Function over form though is my main goal in the end. I have been debating on going with a slightly longer 10.5" barrel to give me a little more real estate to hold on to but figure if I am doing an SBR I might as well go as short as I can.
  6. Yeah I love me some Vortex. I have eyeballed that one but will probably end up going with the Bushnell version if I choose a scope. I have never been one to spend a whole lot on optics but I don't want to buy junk either.
  7. I would have to train them to sit on either side of my chair/throne like they do in the movies.  :pleased:
  8. I am trying to decide on an optic for my SBR build and am going back and forth between a 1-4x scope or a red dot with flip over magnifier.  I will be using this for hunting but once I get a suppressor it will also be my home defense gun. As far as hunting goes the 1-4 would suit my needs just fine but I am thinking a red dot would be better suited for HD. What say you?
  9. So do these stamps have some type of identifying number on them that ties it to my item or is it just a generic stamp? From everything I've been told carrying a copy of the paperwork with me whenever I go to the range isn't a bad idea but that seems like that would be easy to fake for someone.
  10. Wrong thread.  :yuck: You must power browse TGO like I do with multiple tabs.
  11. Wow. I'm most surprised that the article didn't mention what color the student's skin was and reference another situation that had similar circumstances but no bearing whatsoever on this situation.   Seriously though unless the kid got the jump on the coach I would bet he was afraid to fight back for fear of being sued.
  12. Dude I freakin' ate satire sights. Get me every time!
  13. Well that's something you don't hear everyday! I bet that was a sight to behold.
  14. My only comfort is that it will take me at least two months to decide on everything for my upper. I will have this baby done by hunting season though! The can will have to wait for birthday or Christmas .  :pleased:
  15. From what I can tell these Omega rails are mainly copies of the YHM stuff. Good stuff for the money though. Think I paid around $40 for mine.
  16. My guess is that those little ridges for the set screw to sit don't line up exactly. I honestly didn't check on mine because it finally felt like it bottomed out and it was solid so I left it alone.
  17. I have one of the Omega rails on mine. My locking nut has slots in it rather than holes though. At first I ran it all the way in so there was no gap but ended up running out out one turn so the rails lined up evenly. Doing that I was able to put a scope mount on to bridge the gap and line them up. I then tightened the lock ring down followed by the set screw. Mine seems to be pretty tight. It does seem the the set screw had to fight's it's way down while I was turning it though.   With all of that said I will probably go for a different mounting style guard on the next build.
  18. Yeah I'm glad I could efile. After filing I can look at the virtual paper form filled in and it's not as overwhelming. Hopefully efile is up for suppressor a by the time I buy one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I agree.  I wonder how the ruling will affect already submitted applications.
  20. Just finished e-filing my form 1 for an SBR a few minutes ago. For anyone curious I will update how long it is currently taking. Another member told me he was seeing 30-45 days. I am about ready to see some spoils from all the cash I have put out just so I can have a smaller rifle...... :stunned:
  21. Who's scruffy lookin'?
  22. Anyone had an engraving done on the east side of Nashville or Lebanon area? I am ready to take mine in.
  23. Hmmm. Maybe not. The guy at the booth made out like it was already out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Sorry but I won't be able to make that. Thanks for the offer though.
  25. This is a VERY old post but I want to talk about it anyways.   My guess is that you won't find a clear cut answer to the question. The ATF likes it that way. When you have clear cut answers within their rulings and opinions  and all that we get something like the Sig Brace. They just love to leave gray area's open to interpretation (theirs not ours).
