1. I just called my local office but the phone rang and rang and rang. No one answered. I also didn't know if I needed Group 1 or Group 3 so I called both.
2. This is what the guy just sent me when I told him no, I cannot legally sell him the rifle. "I said I'd take it so please consider it sold as far as showing it to other people. Easy way to confirm I can buy it In person is just call your local pd and ask them. My ffl says Since neither of us are ffl it's a private sale and the fact that we live in different states is irrelevant."
3. nysos, those were my thoughts exactly.
4.
Federal law: you cannot legally sell a firearm of any type to a resident of another state without going through a FFL. Long guns can be at an FFL in either state, handguns must be at FFL in the buyer's state. Some states have additional requirements, and NC is one of them. To buy a pistol, buyer must first get a permit to purchase. It's my understanding that a NC carry permit negates that. - OS
Darn it. Why is it everytime that I search and don't find the answer, I post my question only to find it later after more thorough searching? Can anyone verify this with a source document?
5. I searched for this here and didn't find this exact question, but the answers I did find point to NO. There is a guy from MO who wants to buy my rifle. He said he'll drive to my town to buy it. I told him I wasn't sure if it was legal, but he said he does it all the time and any FTF transaction is legal. Is it legal to sell a firearm to a resident of another state if they are in my state?
6. First, you have to purchase a TGO subscription in order to post guns for sale in the classifieds. Click on TGO Store, directly under the banner up top, and you'll see the option to purchase either a 6-month or 1-year subscription. From there, proceed to the classifieds and post away. As for being careful who you sell your guns to, there is a TGO bill of sale that you could print out and use for your records. Also, look at user's iTrader feedback. There's also your gut feeling.
7. They are both fine. I'd go with whichever one is cheaper. To make things complicated, here is some reading material. http://forums.officer.com/t81462/
8. I hadn't thought of the magazines. I have 3 10rd magazines and each magazine is numbered, but I never look at which one I put in. I will make a note of that the next time I shoot. The ammo I use is the CCI Blazer 525rd value pack. I'm kind of stuck with it because I bought 5250 rounds and I'm not even half way through. The scope base screws are not protruding into the inside top of the receiver. The next time I shoot I will try your ear plug and sharpie methods, Dolomite. Thanks for not leaving me to die I guess RED is wrong.
9. I'm shooting the 10/22 out of a rest, so it sits very still and stable. The scope mount is made by power custom, the rings are by warne, and the scope is by sightron. As far as I can measure, the barrel freefloats all the way to the v-block. I shot 10 rounds at 50 yards today and my first shot was 3 inches from POA at 10 o'clock. Just way out there. Shots 2-10 punched a dime sized hole at POA. Am I expecting too much from the first round?
10. I had the bolt reworked by Randy at CPC, but the problem persists. The barrel is a Volquartsen carbon fiber .920" barrel. The stock is a choat Dragunov Ruger 10/22 stock. I am using the stock V-block. After some digging, I've found that I've put $918 into this rifle that I'm not 100% satisfied with. It's embarassing. I'm considering changing the scope. How would you torque the v-block bolts, graycrait? I haven't gotten around to the ear plug method yet.
11. Welcome to the mid-south, Memphis, and TGO!
12. There is only one place that I know of and that place is MSSA. http://www.memphis-ssa.com/ Goodluck. This is a problem we all face here in Memphistown.
13. I wasn't old enough to understand or even know about the AWB under Clinton. Now that Obama has put some weight behind an AWB ressurection, what does that mean for those who have these "assault weapons"? What was it like for those of you prior to the Clinton AWB who had them and what was it like during? What changed then and what will change now?
14. I would like to mount a micro dot on my Mark III 22/45, but I don't like the rail. I saw this picture and I really want to do this to mine. Does anyone know how these micro dots are mounted? I only have the 3 pre-drilled holes on the top recevier. Will another one need to be drilled and tapped for this setup? Edit to add: That's a Leupold DeltaPoint on the top setup and a Burris FastFire on the bottom setup
15. I have an RRA dedicated 9mm AR and it has been flawless, not to mention more than a lot of fun to shoot. Buy UZI mags then convert and refinish them if you go RRA.
16. Oh, and I am trying to sell some of the firearms I own, HvyMtl.
17. I joined the Air Force and will be in training for quite some time
18. I guess it's a matter of priorities then
19. True. This is the only online community I belong to and there is some good stuff here. The thing about me leaving TN is that I doubt I will have the time or option to shoot again for a long while, but I could be taking a pessimistic view of the situation. I'm starting a new job that's requiring me to relocate (yet again) and I believe I will be very busy. Maybe too busy to shoot or get on TGO. Edit to add: I'm also not taking any firearms with me when I move.
20. I'm leaving TN in December and won't be using TGO. I don't know if any information is kept about me on a server somewhere, so for privacy I think it's best to delete account details. I also asked before searching and found that there is no deletion of accounts here. Instead I should just stop posting.
21. How do we delete our account? I did not see an option to do it.
