  1. I called customer support and they told me to call back tomorrow and talk to tech support before 3pm.
  2.   The reticule rotates now as the magnification knob is rotated. Could it have become loose and slid towards the back of the scope then?   In any case, I will contact Mueller customer support on Monday and let you all know the details.
  3. I saw that FAQ also. In this case, I think they are claiming witness marks are clamping marks because there were no indentations in the body of the scope. Perhaps Mueller should define witness marks and clamping marks in their FAQ section to mitigate this issue. I ran my finger over those marks when I was packing it up to wipe off the moisture left by the rings and there was no discernible difference in surface consistency. Looking back, I wish I had taken pictures of it myself before sending it off.   I did a quick Google search last night on this issue, and I found a couple different forum posts which stated that if scopes are correctly installed there should be no marks whatsoever. If that is the case, then I am in fact guilty and will drop this issue. What do yall think?
  4. The manufacturer is Mueller and the scope is the 8.5-25x44AO Tactical. Nothing on their website says this scope is not intended for 308. I do not think the body of the scope was damaged when I sent it in, or ever, so I am annoyed. They claim I damaged this scope when I believe I did not. On Mueller's warranty page it says, "If at any time during the warranty period a Mueller scope is found to have a defect in material or workmanship, Mueller will, at our discretion, repair or replace it free of charge. The warranty is void if damage results from unauthorized repair, alteration, abuse or misuse." Here is their email. I misquoted them when I said "badly damaged." They stated "badly dented" but I still disagree.
  5. I bought a scope in the range of $170 back in 2011 and used it on my 308 rifle exclusively ever since. It was variable power, and while shooting with it last week I noticed that for the first time, the reticule rotated when I changed magnification. The scope's manufacturer offers a limited lifetime warranty so I sent them this scope to repair/replace. Today I received an email from them stating that they cannot repair/replace my scope because it is "badly damaged," "far worse than what the photo shows." Please take a look at this photo and tell me if this scope truly is badly damaged. I never had a problem with this scope before, or any of my other scopes before either. I did not have or use a torque wrench to install the rings, but this scope has never appeared damaged to me and has always worked fine up until last week. So I am asking your thoughts now on this. Is this scope badly damaged? Is the company being honest? What would you do in this situation? They offered me three options: 1. We can take your returned scope on a trade-in and get you back into the same scope (brand new) for only $120.. 2. We can take your returned scope on a trade-in for a different model of your choosing, just let us know which model and we can quote you a reduced price.. 3. We can send your scope back to you.. Thanks in advance
  6. DDI contacted me and said that the mag catch had worked itself loose and allowed the magazine to sit just low enough for feeding issues. I think this makes sense because I did not have any problems when I first bought the ak74, and when I did start experiencing feeding issues, they seemed to happen more frequently as time went on. DDI has said they fixed the problem and I'm guessing will probably ship my rifle back sometime next week. I've looked at their Facebook page and they have some good lookin' AKs. So far I'd say this is a fantastic company and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for an AK if only because of their customer service. It's an added plus that they're based in TN.
  7. I contacted Destructive Devices Inc, and they said they will fix it. All I have to do is pay shipping and insurance both ways. That sounds pretty reasonable to me considering my options, so I'm happy with that.
  8. There's definitely no cosmoline, or any grease, gunking it up. I disassembled the bolt tonight and the extractor was pretty strong. I'm not sure how to judge if the rifle is properly gassed, but it seems alright. But the last thing, the rail height, I have no idea if it's correct and I'm not too sure how to measure it. When I rack the bolt carrier though, there is no more resistance than on my 47. Just the carrier moving over the hammer is about the only resistance.   I bought this rifle from Classic Arms almost two years ago. I didn't get to shoot it until 6 months after I bought it. DDI, the company who bought WW, offers a 1-year warranty on their rifles. It's been over a year and I don't think they will consider this one of their rifles. I sent them an email tonight anyways and will call them tomorrow as well. Thanks for your help!
  9. Bummer. I was reading that to fix the magazine seating requires rivets to be removed and I don't have any tools, or the know-how, up here that can do that. (I'm currently stationed in North Dakota.) Thanks for the help so far! I'll try to contact Destructive Devices tomorrow.
  10. Alright. Finally got some pictures of the malfunction today. It snowed last weekend so the original people cancelled. These are not quality pics, but my phone takes even worse photos. I think the problem with my rifle is getting worse. Today I had 5 feeding issues from the first mag. I think 3 or 4 issues with the second mag. And zero issues with the third mag.
  11. I might give that a shot. What I did today was ask if anybody wanted to shoot some guns this weekend and I'll see if I can use one of their phones to take a decent picture.
  12. That is more difficult since I do not own a camera and my phone does not connect to the internet. I'll have to see if I can borrow someone's camera for the afternoon one day. Perhaps this weekend.
  13. If you need pics from a different angle or of something else in the rifle, let me know. Thanks for your help.
  14. Yes, it has a bullet guide installed. That's where I think the problem lies. I am working on borrowing a camera from someone for some quick pics.
  15. Mag lock-up is good as far as I can tell because the top of the mag lips touch the bottom of the rails when inserted. Other than that I don't know what to look for. I'll see if I can snap some pics soon.
  16. What ways are there to fix it, Bill?   The rifle does not seem like a lemon to me. Sometimes I can shoot an entire mag without any issue. Then I reload it and shoot it again and experience some feeding problems.
  17. I just search for "AK-74 feed" and got not pertinent results. Nothing, in fact, remotely related to AK-74s.   Anyways, I've had a WaffenWerks AK-74 from Classic Arms for about a year now and it came with 4x Tapco mags. I consistently had feeding reliability issues, which I attributed to the mags. But I recently spent $130 on Russian AK-74 mags and I'm still having feeding issues which leads me to the conclusion that it has been the rifle all along. Is anyone familiar enough with 74s to identify this problem? The only thing I can think of is the bullet guide, but I have no idea how to tell for sure. What do yall think?
  18. I just finished some quick background research on these guys. Seems like they have improved over the last year in customer service, but their product quality remains hit or miss... Does not appear consistent. They even state under the 'features' tab for this BSG, "Approximately 20% Of all Bolts are LOT MP tested during our manufacture process. Our Bolts are NOT marked MP."   http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_12/649932_Ares_Armor_NiB_Bolt_carrier_group.html   Still, that's a nice deal at $89. Apparently two months ago they were on sale for $79.   I have been considering building a 300BLK upper, and this BCG would be nice, but I think I must pass on both for now :(
  19. Looks like either a slide lock/release tab or a magazine release button. For what? I don't know.
  20. I see that the bottom one appears larger now; guessing that's the .30 cal. You got a lot of silent enjoyment right there.
  21. Same caliber, just different lengths?
  22. I bought a Norinco SKS from Classic Arms a couple months ago. It cleaned up well and shoots great, but I was disappointed in the condition of the wood after all was said and done. It had more than a fair share of nicks and dings and discoloration. However, it shoots straight and eats everything I feed it and I'm very happy with that. Got myself a little piece of history. Looks like you lucked out though with the stock. Nice looking rifle.
  23. Be sure to post a pic. I'm curious to see what we're workin with here.
