  1. This is what I've been considering but it's over my budget right now, so I'll have to wait if I decide to get it. http://www.midwayusa...q-reticle-matte I hope it's worth it. There's also a hog scope for a 30-06 that fit my bill nicely. Would the bullet drop compensator for the 30-06 work alright on a 5.56 rifle?
  2. There are so many scopes out there to choose from, and after searching for almost an hour on the net I don't know what I've looked at already and what I haven't. I am looking for a scope to fit on my 20" AR15, preferrably 1x-4x magnification and with something to help me know where to aim at different distances such as bullet drop marks. I'm not sure about how to use mildots, so maybe a scope to help me with that if nothing else? All I've used is red dot scopes but it's time to change it up. I will be using this for target shooting at distances between 25 and 200 yards. My budget is limited to $300 right now :-(
  3. Thanks for the help. I was considering buying this rifle, but not so sure about it now.
  4. I saw a 1941 Mauser that was sporterized and reblued. It had/has a serial number and all that can be seen of it now is a vague 12.
  5. Is it a problem if someone buys a reblued rifle and there's no serial number on it because it's been blued over?
  6. How do we order from you, dlm37015?
  7. You don't need a gym or P90X or any program to lose weight and get in shape. Like others have said previously: It has a lot to do with what you eat (or what you don't). To lose weight you need to burn more calories than what you take in. Use this calculator to determine how many calories you should eat in order to reach your desired goal. http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/calories-goal.php The best thing to do to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy. The best exercise to lose weight is running. You can eat healthy. If you can't run, walk briskly 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes. After that becomes easy, work on lightly jogging 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes. It will take time, but don't give up. This has to become a part of your life from now on or you will gain the weight back.
  8. Saw this on Slickguns. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2AISZM70231-1.html Anyone know anything about these rifles? Looks like a Mauser and I've read it is based on a Mauser action. Other than that, what's the quality? Is it worth the $500?
  9. I never ordered from USA Ammo. What should I be worried about? The bad reviews I read said that they were slow to fill orders and only 1 review said that they did not receive their entire order.
  10. I just ordered some new 5.56 ammo from FM. Anyone have any experience with them? I've read more good than bad reviews about them when searching google.
  11. I have done all that already. The option for location is just not there at all.
  12. Been there and tried to find the option to change my location. It's not in there. Where else would it be?
  13. How do I change my location? Can't find it in the edit profile.
  14. I went to the Classic Arms gun shop in Memphis yesterday to see about getting a sling attachment point put on my AR. I tried doing it myself but I couldn't get the castle nut off. The gunsmith at Classic Arms said he could do it in 10 minutes. So he took my AR and broke two tools trying to get the castle nut off, scraping the buffer tube in the process. Spikes Tactical had staked that thing in 3 different places and the only way to get the castle nut loose was to cut it. I took the AR lower in again today and dropped it off before work. I go back at lunchtime and not only is the attachment point installed, but I had a new buffer tube and the gunsmith had patched up the lower receiver where I had scratched it myself when trying to remove the castle nut. I had put the lower wrapped in a T-shirt in a vice and got some scratches through the shirt. In the end, however, I got a new buffer tube, a new castle nut, some cosmetic repair work, and my SAP installed for only $10. I just want to say that the service at Classic Arms is great and how it should be everywhere, not just gun stores. I couldn't be happier with them.
  15. This doesn't exactly answer your question, but Southern Ohio Gun has the cheapest surplus 8mm Mauser ammo available I think. SOG Inc. - Firearms, Accessories and Ammunition
  16. The P1 has 5 different front sight heights. The front sight is marked with a number. The higher the number the higher it shoots.
  17. I just got a copy of it from the library. Thanks for the recommendation.
  18. He should spend more time with actual firearms instead of virtual ones. If he's making six figures though, it doesn't really matter if he breaks a $3000 TV. I've never seen MW3, but I just watched some of his videos and that game looks spectacular.
  19. Tower Defense and Aerospace Factory Workers Party at Lunch Those workers need to be fired and taken to jail.
  20. gregintenn, you have very good suggestions. For the most part, they give me no problems except for the gardening. I live in an apartment, in a city, with concrete everywhere. I cannot even start a window garden because the other apartment buildings cast shadows on my unit. However, that's no reason not to learn. How about you teach me or show me some gardening and canning techniques sometime? I also have a suggestion for your list. Learn first aid skills. I have signed up for a Red Cross First Aid and CPR class so that if I ever have to get the heck out of town and make it the hard way, I will be able to effectively treat injuries should they occur. As far as our camping went, that was to see if the contents of my bug out bag were sufficient to sustain two people for a couple days away from society. It wasn't useless either. Bug out bags aren't meant for long term survival like the suggestions you made are. My goal however is to learn and retain various skills for long term survival. My bug out bag just helps me on our way.
  21. Sorry about the repost. It was new to me.
  22. I got this in an email. It said it's a true story but I don't know if is or if it's a joke. The Arizona Department of Safety Officer pulled over pick-up truck owner Mike Murray for a weapons check because of an NRA bumper sticker. When the officer approached the vehicle, the man behind the wheel handed the officer his driver's license, insurance card and concealed carry permit. The officer took all the documents, looked them over and said, "Mr. Murray, I see you have a CCP. Do you have any weapons with you?" The driver replied, "Yes I do. I have a 357 handgun in a hip holster, a .45 in the glove box and a .22 derringer in my boot." The officer looked at Mike and asked, "Anything else?" "Yes. I have a Mossberg 500 12 gauge and an AR-15 in the trunk." The officer asked if the man was driving to or from a shooting range and the man said he wasn't, so the officer bent over and looked into the driver's face and said "Mr. Murray, you're carrying quite a few guns. May I ask what you are afraid of?" Mike locked eyes with the officer and calmly answered, "Not a friggin’ thing".
