  1. Anybody ever hunted or shot small game with some of the 46 grain training rounds. They have low recoil ,but still have the blast.I have a several rounds of those, they're fun to shoot.
  2. Ruger MK I Target with 6 7/8" heavy tapered barrel, blued. My dad bought it new for me around 1978.It's had a lot of rounds put through it and us just as accurate as it was when new.I sent it back to Ruger in 07' and had it reblued.Yes I still have it,it will go to my son.
  3. Glock 19 and Ruger MK II 22
  4. There is a very big savings if your loading quality bullets such as Sierra or Nosler ballistic tips for accuracy. A good box of factory ammo with ballistic tips or such could cost $20 to $30 for 20 rds.You can load them for about $6 or so for 20 rds.
  5. Got one (Rock Chucker) I've had for about 7 years.I traded for it used. Also have a Pardner press I bought used a few weeks back for my son.Anything RCBS is great stuff.I have a RCBS powder thrower, scales, and dies.they have great customer service,if you need help with something or need a part just call them. They will usually send you the part free.
  6. Go to Gun Owners Club if you want to see stupid prices.Lol.
  7. My experiences in a LOT of pawn shops with guns they don't have a clue what some of their gun are worth or what they are.I have saw a FR8 marked on the tag as Mosin Nagant,AK's as SKS's .lol
  8. Where is all the 22 LR ammo going?I've heard everyone's theory, but really where is it all going? How many millions of rounds do you think CCI,Federal,Remington, and Winchester are pumping out each day ,and you can hardly find it in any of the big stores.I hadn't saw any at a Wal Mart since Dec. or Jan.
  9. Yeah,I always ask what's the least they will take or make a offer on what I will give.
  10. I'm with JAB on that one about all the pawn shops I go in are waaaaay over priced,so much there's no starting point to deal.Saw a 20 H&R Pardner pump at one ,they had $199 on it I ask what they would take OTD for it ?They said $200.A new one is $179 + tax and Tic.If they would have said $150 or less I'd been more interested.
  11. Anybody load 65 or 69 grain bullets for their AR and seat them a little deeper to fit in your mag?In Sierra's book the have 2.260" COL for the Match King.
  12. Wal Marts ammo should have "FOR SHOOTING PURPOSES ONLY,NOT FOR RESELL!" stamped on the box.
  13. I get good accuracy out of 25 grains of Accurate 2230 with a Nosler 50 gr ballastic tip in my Savage mdl. 10 Precision carbine an my Stevens mdl. 200. 1/2" 3 shot group or smaller on a good day at 100 yds.
  14. Yeah your right about loads in different books varying from one book to another.I have about 5 different books ,so when loading I'll check all of them and compare.
  15. By "hot" I meant going over the max powder charge that the book shows.
  16. Never understood why someone would load a "hot" load.I always start in the middle and go from there till I get good groups.Dont care much about velocity.the crows I shoot with my .223 couldn't tell you how fast or slow the bullets are going when it hits them.lol.
  17. Can you get a 88 with a 18" barrel and screw in chokes?
  18. Doesn't the weather affect the way a rifle shoots?Humidity and temp .A load that shoots a 1/2" group today may open up to 1" or bigger tomorrow.
  19. This one already has Rem chokes so I guess it should be thick enough.I just want it cut down shorter and threaded.
  20. Does he do good work,I called and asked to talk to the gunsmith and told him I had a barrel I wanted thread for Rem chokes. This is another barrel I have that is a 12 ga 1100 barrel I wanted shortened and threaded. He said it would be $75 which I didn't think was bad. Thanks Jeff
