  1. Besides turning the honor of a Bronze Star into something akin to a Cracker Jacks prize, my beef about this is the military has to be PC on anything that may offend somebody when our troops' butts are on the line 24/7.  "It might start a riot," the brass says.  Yeah, they might start shooting at us, too.  But heaven forbid they call us hurtful names like "infidel."
  2. Well, he did risk his life....if he misspelled a verse he could have been beheaded or something.   http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/342655/air-force-chaplain-awarded-bronze-star-powerpoint-teaching-proper-sensitivity-quran-pa
  3. There are a lot of hunters and recreational shooters that go along with some of the restrictions true anti-gunners are proposing, like private back checks and mag caps. They say they support the second amendment, but I believe it's more that they are not against it. Folks like the Giffords affirm that the people have a right to keep and bear arms, but they stumble over the "shall not be infringed" part. What if you were to ask them if the same restrictions they want to place upon our 2A rights would carry over to 1A? How about allowing free speech, but you're limited to no more than 10 minutes? What if all civil rights activists were required to undergo a background check before they could get a permit to march in protest or stand on a corner with a sign? Could a person in need of legal counsel hire someone who once served in the JAG Corps or would he be too much of a "military style" lawyer? I mean, where do we draw the line on their favorite rights?
  4. Okay, I'll risk public ridicule.....what does SPF mean?
  5. Given the stakes involved, I say that voting on a bill to block gun control is far more important to us than raising money for your political future.   http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/08/anti-gun-control-lawmaker-skips-major-gun-control-vote-for-fundraiser/
  6. Good to know.  I ordered a thousand Berry 100-grainers for my .380s last night @ $75.00.  If they're nice to me in this kind of dog-eat-dog market, they'll see me again.
  7. That's the first and last time I've seen that blog.  Maybe he should go on a USO tour.
  8. There's something seriously screwed up with me.  I should have known by the author's byline.   :nervous:
  9. There's something seriously screwed up with today's Army.   http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/03/alleged-fort-hood-shooter-nidal-hasan-receives-promotion-legion-of-merit/
  10. Buddy at BSL is one of the best guys to deal with.   I was one of his earliest customers and he works hard to deliver a superior product for a very reasonable price.  He's always open to suggestions and recently developed a 300 AAC Blackout offering.  Drop him a note and he'll share some of his recipies.
  11. It's interesting what this ex-Navy captain has to say:  "Why do we need them?"  Pick it up one minute in to the video.   http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/americas-newsroom/index.html#http://video.foxnews.com/v/2207180216001/sen-slams-holders-refusal-to-rule-out-us-drone-strikes/?playlist_id=86909
  12.   Not for nuthin', but "most" isn't that comforting a word in this case.
  13. Heck, police kick in the wrong door every day.  What do we do with the geek on a joystick who just happens to get a terrorist's ID wrong and levels a daycare center?
  14.   Unless Obama ordered the flags lowered, their U.S. Code excuse doesn't fly....pun intended.
  15. Not...one...single...drop of Citgo gas goes into my tank--ever again.   http://www.khou.com/news/local/Citgos-Houston-offices-fly-flags-at-half-staff-for-Chavez-195652111.html
  16. If you're not reloading you're really hurting.....if you are reloading, you're kinda hurting.
  17. I'll just get in, buy some things from David and get out.  These gun shows are turning into Fantasyland.
  18. I don't know what you're used to reloading, but I think you'll find .38/.357 easier because of its straight wall design.  Some find the tapered casings of semi-auto calibers a bit more difficult.  You will need to roll crimp the loads, but that's easy-peasy too.
  19. I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
  20. She announced that Argo won the Oscar--that's the flick about the group of Canadians that helped rescue some Iranian hostages.  You know, kinda like Obama and Benghazi.....no, wait...
  21.   Exactly.  And they know it, too.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKq3967hUgU
  22. GOP turncoats in the Senate are negotiating with Dems to erode the next layer of freedom from Americans.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/08/gun-sale-background-checks_n_2644793.html
  23. I was glad to see the franchise has come full circle.  Too many of the plots were about as believeable as Obama's promises.  Never did care for M with estrogen.
  24. I'm keeping my betting money in my pocket until Hillary's in the match, too.  :-\
  25. This was passed along in an email, so take it with however many grains of salt you wish.  It's about what we may expect about the guns and ammo inventories in the coming months.  Maybe it will confirm or deny what you've heard, but I'm sure to a lot of you any news is welcome so that you can make plans.  Please comment on any part you find to be questionable--that's how these things get sorted out.   Devon Harris {from Federal} at the SHOT show, said the industry used to worry about selling what they make, now they worry about making what they sold. No sign of it letting up on the retail level, at least here in Ohio. Even Wall Mart has put 3 box limit on ammo, any ammo including shot gun shells. Everyone in the shell industry that I talked with had their plants running balls to the walls, 18 months worth of production is spoken for, they were some what worried about raw materials. Doug Ross has several important info updates about the status of the gun industry followed by an inventory update. We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told: Smith & Wesson: Running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages. RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days. FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out! Armalite: Maxed out. DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product. COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carriers. LWRC: Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels. Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind. AMMO: Every caliber is now allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible with 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by law enforcement, and civilians are third in line. MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon. RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted. Bow Owens says they didn't know when they'd be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn't come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn't just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War II-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants -- of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20 -- were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust-free space marked their passing. I've never seen anything like it. Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn't a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war. Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and the rest of the Statists have done more to promote gun ownership than the NRA ever did. Well done, Democrats.
