  1. They're blaming a lack of demand and heavily discounted sales by other makers. Maybe they ought to give Obama a few bucks to start a new gun control push.   http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-10-30/sturm-ruger-falls-as-slowing-gun-sales-crimp-profit.html
  2. Turns out he is a muslim convert--that's no surprise.  What is a surprise is Obama immediately labeling it as a terrorist activity.  I guess that only happens outside the U.S. on his watch.   http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2014/10/obama-calls-ottawa-shooting-a-terror-attack-but-fort-hood-was-workplace-violence/
  3.   Trouble is, the Supreme Court has no enforcement arm.  And the Justice Dept. is a little slow to respond to matters such as this.

As soon as the shooting started I wished I had brought my muffs.  Even the rifle reports sounded like they were inches from my ear.
  5. Maybe so....but there's probably been more Americans that have slept with KK than died from Ebola in Africa.  <_<
  6.   No offense, OS.....but I'm glad you made it out okay.  ;)

I just saw that WW2 tank movie today. Very nicely done, but it isn't your typical John Wayne war epic.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OGvZoIrXpg   P.S. Just to show you how far we've gone back to knuckle-dragging intellect, they put up onscreen the reminder to turn off your phone FIVE DANGED TIMES.
  8. If you were to sexually assault a department store mannequin, could they charge you with statutory rape?
  9. The way I figure it, if you don't vote for a candidate or issue, it's the equivalent of a vote for the opposition---The vote that would have canceled yours puts them one ahead.   As far as God judging how you vote, if I read my Bible right this is not the deal breaker for God's favor.  Not belonging to Him in the first place puts you in enough jeopardy.
  10. What has four legs, is big, green, fuzzy and if it fell out of a tree would kill you?                 A pool table.
  11.   The casual anti-gunner may think this, but the rabid liberals see the real context of the 2nd amendment and fear us as a threat to their political existence.
  12. The Ebola czar finally showed up for work:   http://youtu.be/AHa-AvLk4no
  13. Never really could get used to a wheel for SD.  I tried S&W, Colt and Taurus.  Years ago I had a Ruger Security Six, but those were the days before HCPs.  I carry .380 now but will switch to 9mm for the winter.
  14. Hickok45?  Didn't he get bushwacked in South Dakota while holding aces and eights?
  15.   Just as an update, Coal Creek went up the creek and is now under new ownership, T.A.C. (Tactical Advantage Corp.)
  16.   Man caves do get messy........ :poop:
  17.   That is really my favorite LGS.  It's true Robert does get pre-occupied with a customer or on the phone, but others will be happy to wait on you.  Ask for Ben or Robert Sr.  It's also not the most orderly store, but I enjoy rummaging around a bit....kind of like going through the attic.    The other LGS I head to in Maryville is Bill's Outpost.  A bit pricier than than Farnsworth and doesn't really deal, but has a large selection of new guns and a few used.  The guys in there always ask if they can help, I and don't look like a big spender.
  18. Here's a box review by a new owner......not very impressive.  Gee, I'd rather have a rifle with magazines instead of clips.  :-\   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zv8KgSUPso
  19.   As OS has reported, the governor and legislature have been seating the judges anyway for the last several decades and we have the vote to keep them or chuck them.  Very few, if any, have been tossed by popular election.  However, we still retain the right to elect our governor and legislature, so it's not as if we have a limited voice.   I also don't live with the fantasy that today's voters are of the same intellectual or moral caliber that they were in the golden era when all was seemingly right with this country and we were united in pride for our nation.  You can buy votes by giving out free cell phones and EBT cards today or get a riot started merely by saying that it's happening.  Perhaps when citizens once again think responsibly and common sense becomes more common, then we can confidently believe that we can elect a government of, by and for the people rather than at the people.
  20.   Here's how I voted and why:   Amend. 1--Yes, because every organization that admitted or even smelled of Democrat is against it.   Amend. 2--Yes, because whatever voice you give to the people, the political bastards are going to skew it to suit themselves anyway.   Amend. 3--Yes, to make sure they can't threaten us with an earned income tax, but they'll bleed us dry with sales and property taxes.   Amend. 4--Yes, because it's a crying shame that our vets come back disabled and we have to pass the hat for their care.  Give these heroes what they need.   Grocers selling wine--No, because it'll make Mike 357's day if they can't.

The name Ruger and accessories go hand-in-hand, so there's several things you can do to trick them out.  For accuracy, one of these days I might put a barrel stabilizer on it which acts as a combo stiffener and heat sink.  Here's one that looks good:   http://sunfloweroutdoorsports.com/Mo-Rod-4-Barrel-Stabilizer-Accurizer-for-Ruger-Mini-14-30-MR4.htm   For the simple add-ons, you can follow this guy's ideas....but collapsible or retractable stocks, muzzle brakes and other goodies are available, too:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MttOpoRMsf8

Did you buy a Ruger 20-rounder?  I got one the other day that I haven't tried....almost 40 bucks though.  I'm doing my own reloads with pretty good accuracy.  I know you can get Commie ammo pretty cheap, but I've decided to pamper it until the SHTF, then I don't really care what goes down the pipe.
  23.   Just so you know, Mike....I pulled the lever against the grocers.   Now if I can't get my sangria at a decent price...... :grouchy:

I got a slightly older model, before they started calling them ranch rifles.  So far no wants, no warrants.
  25. Just what kind of wine do the grocers want to sell?  It probably won't be over $10/bottle.  Thunderbird and Ripple will be heavily discounted at Walmart.  If you're a connoisseur, you'll still go to the package stores.
