  5. Well...After looking and looking for a good deal on a used one...I finally got me a G26. We bought my boss one last year for Christmas and ever since then, I've had the itch for one. Shot it this morning and of course it shoots great. Thinking about getting some night sights for it. Any suggestions on which to get? I've never had to purchase night sights before...the guns that I have that have night sights came on them when I bought them. Either way, I'm proud of my new edition.

    Sons 1st rifle

Good job...Thats one heck of a gift and great choice on the caliber. I love that caliber too. I use it all the time. As far as the girl thing...I took my daughter (which is now 12) when she was around 7. We took a youth model 243 singleshot rifle 5 bullets and 2 pair of binoculars. The first evening we saw nothing but the next morning the deer was all around us. She picked one out, I kinda assisted in helping her hold it and aim it but she pulled the trigger. From that first trigger, she has been hooked. She likes shooting my AR now and is a tack driver with it. But to beat it all, she's the biggest priss i've ever seen. She's the only one on her cheerleading squad that can bust a bullzeye at 100 yds, help ole dad field dress a deer and after all that yell cheers with the best of them. I'm sure your son is going to have one heck of a christmas this year.
  7. Thats a Bute... I would love to hear your range report. I've never shot a Sig 1911 would love to hear how it does. Congrats!!!
  8. For the money and quality the Glock would me my answer!

    Ever eaten Dog?

well....if it means me starvin' or eating ole jake out in the yard then i hate it for ole jake. However if there is another option that may possibly be a better route than I'd probably pass on the dog
  12. welcome fellow east TN neighbor.
  13. I have a Bushmaster and Love it. I cannot say anything good or bad about a DPMS. But I've never had one problem out of my Bushy!
  14. How this is allowed to happen just makes me sick to my stomach. Its absoutely rediculous and uncalled for to have retrials. I'm not sure why im so surprised to see our society be so eager to find ways to make pure monsters a second chance instead of growin a set and giving these shameless scum what they deserve. just a death penalty would be justice; but it would be better than this. I totally agree with Targetshooter84. Give them what they dished out.
  15. agreed. Her having a handgun probaby would just make the situation worse when trying to pull it. having a HCP isnt a bad thing at all but knowing what to do in this situation is a must and a her having a handgun probaby wouldnt be beneficial!
  16. Agreed! I hunted a place 15 miles from my house last year and saw 18 deer opening day....Went this year and have seen 1 deer yet all summer they were wearing trails in the dirt so I know they were there. Its got to be the weather. Funny thing is the last few days have been cold and I've seen more deer out moving in places i pass going to work these few days than since hunting season opened. Hopefully we will have a stronger ending to this season!!!
  17. Very nice weapons neighbor! My uncle left me with alot of different things including a ton of ammo thats just like that. I've never shot it. All of it is full complete boxes so I didnt want to break them up. Those guns looks like they have been well taken care of.
  18. Budget...would like to stay around 6-700 range. Purpose would be for home protection only. I really dont think he is wanting to shoot it all the time or for Skeet shooting, hunting, etc...
  19. Ok guys...I'm not a real big shotgun guy but I have been appointed a task so to speak from my co-workers to find a double barrell shotgun "WITH" hammers. The owner of our company wants one and we would like to get him one for christmas. Any suggestions? Everyone would prefer to find a new one but anything in great shape would be fine as well just in case somewhere out there may have one they want to part with.
  20. One thing is for sure..If you buy a LH rifle and for what ever reason didnt like it, Its going to be harder to get rid of. I'm left handed and like Danger Rane said, I grew up using right handed bolts. 2 years ago I had the idea of going left handed bolt. As I found out while looking, unless you buy a new one and order it, they are sometimes hard to find. And when you do find them it takes the people a long time to get rid of them. All my bolts are right handed but I did go the Browning BLR route for a while and it was great. The lever action was great and with the 308 round I had in it, it had alot more range than the 30/30 I had in a lever action. Now, I'm on a T/C kick. Single shots make me more careful on the shot I take...LOL.
  21. Springfield anything! Loaded is great! i LOVE mine!
  22. hey...let me know if u get serious abt ridding urself of that thing...lol. I've been debating on a g19 to go with my g23. I really dont have a problem with the triggers. Its like anything else. ya just gotta get used to it. Glocks are just really comfortable to shoot in my opinion.
