wd is correct you just have to shoot and try different things. I know with me it was learning from my dad and going with other hunters to learn.

As you can see every gun patterns different. Its going to be trial and error at first. Keep practicing, shooting and experiment with different loads. Oh and more power to you guys that shoot 3.5 inch. I will be a wimp and stick with 3 inch lol.

Buy you some turkey targets and pattern your gun with them. I use the shoot n see turkey targets. That way I can count and compare shot loads. @ 20 yards Im putting over 120 pellets in the kill area, @ 30 yards putting around 100 or so, @ 40 yards im easily getting over 85 pellets in the kill area. I'm happy with my choke and shot size. When I say kill area im talking about the number of pellets thats going to hit the turkey's head.

I can tell you what I use. I have a kicks choke shooting Winchester high velocity #6's. At least give the 3 inch Winchesters a try. Make sure they are the high velocity. I have tried a bunch of shells and these are the best out of my gun and they are priced great. Just remember that each gun patterns different. Oh my choke diameter is .675

Just got in. Called 2 birds that had 7 inch beards or so. I passed on them to let them get bigger. An hour later I called in 6 jakes. Today was a great day.

Going back out in the morning. Hopefully I will fill tag #2.

Thanks. My camera is messing up gonna have to take it back. The screen cuts off when it should be on. I tried messing with it but oh well. I was just happy I got something on the camera.

Well thought my camera had died on me. I was messing around with it and I actually got the hunt on camera. Messed with the settings so the screen would stay on and I could see it filming. This turkey was in some really thick stuff. The first shot I actually shot a little back, I was shooting from a real weird angle and I really thought I had a good shot but I guess I didn't. He came in behind us instead of out in the field. The second shot I missed as he was flapping away and I had trees and brush all in my eyes and I was rushing the shot and I'm fat so I was tired from going all morning and having to run through all that crap. The third shot was on the money and he went down. I ran over and finished him off before he ruined his fan against the fence. Not my best hunt but hey we all have them I just happened to get mine on film. The tom is a little hard to see. Hope you enjoy my chaos lol. Hopefully I will get one to give me a better filming angle next time. I'm just excited I actually got something on film. Will for sure learn from this one. Oh and this is the most I have ever shot at a turkey, Previous was 2.

Deet applied to my skin causes me to break out. I try to use as little as I can.

Here's mine again 19 pounds, thick 9 inch beard and almost and inch spurs. I called this bird for almost an hour before he came in. I was going to get video but I forgot to charge my camera from yesterday. Oh well still new at the filming thing. I will remember to bring my car charger next time. Any ways here is the turkey.
