Well, I ended up using 5 gr of AA #5 3 gr of AA #2 for the first set, and filled the rest of the case with walnut litter (!1/6 or 1/5 TSP.. ~75% of the .38 case) in thumb level compression. We will see how it plays in the morning. I think I'll wear safety goggles.... They look real good anyway. edit - think I have settled in on 3 gr AA#2

I am pretty sure dust bunnies are OEM in KTs. Mine always has had them.

SO, time to try some .38 spc carpenter bee loads tomorrow. I already have a can of Unique or Accurate #5 opened up. About 3 grains powder, fill remainder with walnut media ? The rubberized gasket material makes very easy wadding. I drilled out a primer hole a bit, then chamfered/debured to a sharp edge. A tap or two with a rubber hammer against a block of wood. Cuts great. (mark the new "tool" with colored tape to avoid losing or reloading it). 30 carbine case makes a good tamper.

/cynic which are meaningless, in view of committee maneuvering & posturing /cynic off The leadership, Ms. Harwell, and Mr. Ramsey first, needs to step down. They do not represent the populace at large. -

NYC gun-packing tourist from TN gets no jail time
R_Bert replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What she did is not a crime in TN, much less a felony. Not sure why she would lose permit.... You don't lose a permit for out of state traffic ticket, do you ? -
They still don't allow brass & projectiles.

Me, I shoot one-hole groups, and sometimes I am so good the target is unscathed.

A number of years back, I determined a solution to this. If I can't get service in a reasonable time, I have the local WM store's Customer Service Manager's desk in my cell phone. I get response incredibly fast. It works for any department, sometimes the on-duty CSM helps me themselves. B.

Question about the Sandra Fluke; Rush Limbaugh bru-ha-ha...
R_Bert replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
I heard Rush's initial monologue on Fluke (Thursday & Friday of that week), and also the following Monday. I agree, his assessment was on target. But, when I heard him analyze the hearing testimony, I did not hear him directly call her a sl*t. Rather, he inferred that 1. the costs seemed excessive, the frequency was absurd, and the natural perception by the public would be to regard these the actions of a sl*t. He also inferred that someone demanding contraception at taxpayer expense could be regarded as working for sex, i.e. the actions of a prostitute. I don't recall exactly how he worded his Friday analysis, but do not seem to recall him pointedly saying "Fluke is a sl*t", but rather the actions and testimony were consistent with the behavior of one. He even wondered aloud "what her parents think" about her necessity for the amount of contraception and her asking the government to pay for it. He even asked what the "return on investment" for the taxpayer would be. He apologized over the weekend, and explained his apology on the following Monday. His reason for the apology was not a correction of facts, but that he had responded in a manner that would be normally deployed by his opposition. He "sank to their level" was the way he put it, and apologized for *that* reason. Me, well, if it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and squishes like one, it is not necessary to taste it in order to be certain. She is a shill. Anyway, I bet her family is proud. -

Employee Safe Commute (Parking Lot) Campaign
R_Bert replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They only had the meeting room (HHR16) until 1:30 (90 minutes in all, and kill 30 of it on the ends with protocol), when another committee was scheduled. Our legislators at work. Not only do they *not* want to do the job, they ,make *sure* the schedule only permits minimal opportunity for the week. Hang up everything but their pet projects. That, is apparently, from the empirical observation, how it is done. A component of legislative maneuvering. B. -

Well, I need to back it off a bit; 27.5 gr WC842 Dogtown ran at 4050 fps, with a hint of cratering on the CCI-400. Did not test the hotter loads, but did run a few 27.0 gr H4895 Dogtown rounds through the chrono again with ~ 3800 fps avg.

It was fun, and I learned a few things at the feet of the master. BTW, I almost ran across Joe today. He lives next door to one of my best friends, and he gave a few of those barrels to yet another. Small world. It was pretty funny to be able to describe both Joe & the barrels to my firends before they even got started. They said "we got some cool barrels......", and I finished the story for them. B.
