Very basic reloading question

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this appears to be a bonehead question but I have never reloaded before...

What I'd like to know how much would it take to set a guy up who has nothing. Say a Lee Deluxe Turret plus all the stuff to reload 9mm luger rounds.

I guess what I want to know is if I can buy 1000 rounds at ~$200 (.05 ea) what would be my reload price per round be?

Thanks.

Is there something whacky with that calculator?

I figure I should be able to reload for about 2-1/2¢ per round, but it's coming up at 34¢ per round.

Someone please give an example of the necessary data to figure please.

Cost per:

powder (1lb) -

primers (1000) -

cases (1000) -

bullets (1000) -

powder charge (gr) -

What were your results on the calculator?

Did you continue the calculations out to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th loadings? That is where the savings come in. First time out your not saving that much as you have all the "new" stock in place plus you have the powder and extra bullets sitting around waiting.....run it on out.

True. I see your point. I hadn't thought about that. Thanks.
