Mine to, I'm thinking about piping it out from under the house. Don't need the under the house area washed.

Exactly!! If the pipe from the Pressure Relief Valve is just stubbed out underneath the house, it could leak for a long time before you noticed it, making a big mess and allowing mold and mildew to grow. Even a small drip over time could be messy. By bringing the pipe outside the foundation, you would notice the leak, and it would soak harmlessly into the ground.

FYI.. Some codes (THDA) require this before you can sell your home.

This has become somewhat of a long thread. I hope at least some of this info is helpful.

One more thing... Use pipe that is at least the same size as the outlet on the temperature/pressure relief valve. The majority of them are 3/4" NPT, and if this is the case, then 3/4" pipe must be used. For safety reasons, do not reduce this pipe size and keep elbows to a minimum, as they restrict flow as well.

Be sure to install a water heater pan and run that drain outside also. They are cheap and now is the time to do it.

It has been, TGO is a wonderful place to find info even if it's not gun related. Some of the boards would have shut down this thread 2 sec. after I started it.

I now have hot water at a acceptable level and am going to start looking around for a water heater of better quality.
