Bought A Rifle

Recommended Posts

Yeah, me.

CZ 550 Varmint in .308. Somehow .308 doesnt sound like a great varmint caliber, unless the varmint is along the lines of Osama bin Laden or something.

Ultimately it was the single set trigger that did it (thanks Urse).

Now I can be one of those fat guys I see at the TWRA range leaning their guts against the bench and marveling at how well they can pull the trigger while their gun is in a vise.

I never would have suspected that you got yourself a BOLT ACTION rifle.

Nothing in automatic in anything is it??? Revolver for a pistol, pump for a shotgun, and .............................. bolt action for a rifle.

Wow. Welcome to the 21st century Rabbi.

Next thing you know, you will be buying ARs, 1911s, and autoloader shotguns

Nah, he doesn't think the 1911 has been around long enough to be proven technology. Wouldn't so much as consider the other two.

Actually the bolt rifle is from the 19th century, the set trigger probably about the same time, and the .308 since about 1945. I am moving rapidly into the last century.

And just because you guys think I'm a just a wheelgunner, here is today's carry with the new Nils Grips:

Im well aware of the firearms timeline.

I figured someone would over analize my post, but made more sense the way I posted, rather than "...welcome to the 19th and 20th centuries..."

Hey. I don't use a vise.

Other than that ... yeah I resemble that remark. :(

Bill,

Good golly, you're coming around. These smokeless powder rounds are amazing, aren't they?

BTW, nice business cards in the pistol pics. :)

And did you know that a lot of these newfangled guns have this thing in the barrel called "rifling"? They say it makes the gun more accurate. What'll they think of next?
