Original 1851 Colt Navy

Recommended Posts

I have an opportunity to buy an original 1851 Colt Navy revolver in .36 caliber.  It is in great condition and according to the serial numbers (they all match) it was made in 1860.

The thing that really sets it apart is that there is provenance that verifies the Federal officer that owned it during the Civil War.

They are asking $2,000 for it since they have the provenance.

I wondered if the august body here on the forum, thinks that is a fair price for such an item?

Thanks

If I were you I would post this question over on the Colt forum. You will need pics if you want a really good estimate of its value.

if you have pics post them here also so we can drool over it.
