I recently picked up a few bulk packs of Winchester Expert HV .22lr bulk pack in the grey/silver box. Anyone tried these? Particularly in a semi auto pistol? (I'm hoping it will work in my P22 as flawlessly as Rem Golden)

I picked up a few at Wally World in Kentucky on business trip and curious how it performs. I've heard rumor its a lot better than the old Expert in the white box.

i found some of that stuff here this week, but have not shot it yet.

I have found that in rifles I seem to get better accuracy out of 40 grain bullets and I believe these are 36 grain. But I am looking forward to trying it.

But with that pistol you are more worried about reliable feed.

no, have not had time to shoot since we did the swap. I will test it out next time I can get out in the woods. I have been wanting to run it through the little bolt rifle. I like using it for testing different rounds.

Going to Marks tomorrow, hoping to run some of the greek through the Garand :poop:

I hope the weather co-operates.

Shot about a 1/3 of a box through my S&W 22A and Remington 597 on Sunday. Both of these guns have less than 200 rounds through them. Had 3 rounds that didn't fire (1 in 22A and 2 in 597). Overall pretty happy with it. Couldn't tell you about accuracy since we were shooting at aluminum cans tied to a string.

I'm not familiar with the accuracy of that particular round but typically the hyper velocity rounds tend to be less accurate than the slower standard velocity or subsonic rounds.

But they should be great for plinking or hunting.

TJ I shot some of the American Eagle Sunday. Used the grandsons little bolt rifle.

was blowing out the black center on targets. Very impressed with accuracy and reliability of that stuff.

did not try any of the Winchester HV yet

If its consistently "minute of can" I'm happy.

Glad it shot well for you, I was happy with how it shot for me, it just didn't quite have enough pressure to reliably cycle the P22

Big fan of the Expert here. That's what I was shooting the last time we were down in Mike's little holler. Performs flawlessly for me where the Remington stuff causes problems.

It jams and doesn't reliably cycle in the P-22 I have. I've had to keep the ramp meticulously clean in order to have it do any good in the Walther. In the rifles the stuff is fine. Good for target shooting @ 50 and 100 yards.

If you can ever find a brick of federal or the remington that stuff works really well in that particular pistol.

I shoot Rem Golden Bullets almost exclusively in the P22, and have been almost flawless, but as they're getting more difficult to find lately. I've been optimistically buying some other stuff. With the lead bullets I wonder if they'll have more issues getting up the feed ramp though. I'll give 'em a try one of these days. If they don't work well in the P22, maybe I can trade 'em for some Goldens. I was pretty disappointed to see Rem Yellow Jackets were 3.99 a box of 50 now.....crazy.......I used to shoot brick after brick of those for 9.99

I've shot a box, here's my :D

*Accurate enough in my Savage Mk II.

*Consistent - no squibs, unlike Rem GB.

*Feed problems in my Jennings J-22 (go ahead and laugh) YMMV

*Bullets could be seated better, can be turned by hand.
