Competitive shooting in east Tennessee

I've always been interested in competition shooting but have no idea where to begin. Are there any courses or matches that I can just go spectate and learn from?

Then you can search for different matches in your area. 

I did a search and found a couple in your area. Attached below. The match directors contact info is at the bottom. Clubs usually don't mind if you come spectate and willing to help.

Kettlefoot in Bristol Va has several matches . It’s off exit 1 of interstate 81.

Kettlefoot has several several different type matches/competitions for CF and RF, ORSA has some LR CF matches along with some handgun type comps, and NRL/PRS matches for RF.

Dead Zero over in Sparta is a nice outdoor range that has some cool matches (and the best run and gun event anywhere).  Worth checking out.
