CZ P10c Comp Upgrade...

Hey y'all, I recently purchased a CZ P10c online (great deal that I could not pass up), and lo and behold, the Compensated model hit a ridiculously low price in the past couple of days. The model I purchased is unthreaded, so I was curious if anyone had any experience with the rail mount compensators out there. Looking at a couple of options that not only help with felt recoil, but also assist in follow-up shots. And yes, I do wish I had the money to just buy another CZ right now, but it is not quite in the cards.聽

Adding a aftermarket compensator is adding another variable to your carry handgun that can effect reliability. They lower slide velocities, can alter timing, and usually require hot ammo to cycle more reliably. This is your carry gun, and reliability is the primary concern. I would just practice and train with the pistol as it is, especially since you just bought it. The P10c is a fine handgun. Put a thousand rounds through it, or get some training if you鈥檙e worried about recoil management, and follow up shots.

Your probably old enough to remember that until about five minutes ago, the handgun world knew you didn鈥檛 need a comp and a red dot to use and shoot a handgun effectively.

Dust cover comps aren鈥檛 very effective as such. 聽 You tend to get more benefit from the weight near the muzzle. 聽They can also complicate holster selection. 聽聽

For what it's worth; I tried em on my Shadow Systems mr920 n couldn't tell much difference between compensated n uncompensated as to recoil or follow up shots with 147 grain 9 mm slugs.聽 聽Got the same results with my Glock 43x... Both comps are good ones with threaded barrels.聽 Ima thinkin that if ya plan to use 124 or 147 grain defensive loads, the comp ain't worth it...

Appreciate all of the feedback on this topic. I think I will go without on my carry, and look into a comp on my next handgun purchase instead. Without a true benefit, I don't see dropping the money on one when there is ammo to purchase instead 馃槈

I sent my Staccato C Single Stack off to Monsoon Tactical for their Genghis Comp. I've been pleased with the way it works on it.聽
