Are they as good as most other 1911s?

I'll let you know once I pick mine up tomorrow.... :hiding:

starting my 1911 collection with a DW...CCO.

I've done a lot of reading/gun handling leading up to this purchase. and I think it's safe to say Dan Wessons are AT LEAST as good as most other 1911's...in fact, better than most production guns.

I own a couple.I think for the money they are the best out there. I even have

another on order. I also own Colt, SA and a RIA.

Do you mind if I ask the normal price range? I'm too lazy to go look.:bowrofl:

For a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail used range is typically $800(rare)-$900 +tax and tics Used ftf $850....brand new $950-1050 +tax/tics They have been a little bit higher lately because they are being discontinued in favor of a more expensive(albeit nicer) valor bobtail.

depends on what you're getting... "09 CCO's are going for approx. $1,300

to the OP, FWIW, I picked up my CCO today at Guns & Leather, and it MORE than met my expectations. the fit on this thing is amazing for the $$$, seriously, it's fit like an Ed Brown or Nighthawk...

and in case you were interested, G & L happened to have another CCO sitting in the case when I walked in to pick up mine from transfer...dang it. guess I could've saved myself some shipping fees...

(also, there's a nice looking used Valor in the TGO classifieds...looks to be a good deal.)

I've seen new '09 CBOBs run around 1100.00. DW's coming out with some new models in 2010, and dropping some old ones. The CBOB is one to drop (gonna be Cali-only)...until it fails to recertify. The replacement for the CBOB outside of the People's Republic is the VBOB. It's gonna be higher priced, but then it will be all forged as well. I'd buy either an '09 CCO or CBOB now, if I could find one.

I love my Cbob. The slide fit on mine is flawless. "Tight" without being tight. IYKWIM. I carry it every day. The new prices are much higher than I paid. I paid 1k for mine. Those days are probably over.

What do you use for a holster, btw? Carry ammo? .45?

Funny you should ask. I just checked the mail and my new Occidental leather model 1338 IWB holster just came in the mail. I've been carying a G&G IWB for a while. Both are nice leather. The 1338 is very similar to the Milt sparks vm2. A little thinner than the G&G but twice the price. My carry ammo is federal EFMJ .45.
