this starts tonight, 9:00 EDST

I just got off the phone with Comcast and have added HBO to my channel line up for the mere cost of 9.95 a month for six months.

The lady on the phone said they have experienced a ton of people adding HBO for the purpose of watching The Pacific.

Can't wait for it to come on.

Well I'm ready. Have seen teasers for over a year and it's about time.

Just out of curiosity, what issues do you have with HBO?

Garufa, just now saw your question. It's not so much me having an issue as my mom, reason being because of some of their late night shows (Real Sex etc). When I was younger we had the HBO package I think my mom just didn't want her two boys exposed to so much stuff at a young age so it got canned in my house. I personally don't watch that much TV if I do its history channel or ESPN. I love The Soprano's, Band of Brothers, and I'm sure Pacific will be great also I will just download them off the interwebz.

my uncle was part of one of those units that was the 1st on the Canal. From what he told me it was very, very realistic. Especially the part about them watching the night naval battle... and the next morning the US Navy retreating and leaving them stuck.

Its going to be a great series.

I don't have HBO but I went to HBO's website and registered and it allowed me to watch the entire first episode for free. I am assuming that each episode will be available for viewing the day after it airs on the tube.

Great first show. I am hooked but then again I am somewhat biased!
