FNP-40/FNP-45 - Looking to test them out and get opinions

I was up at Bass Pro a few days ago and looked at their FN handguns just for kicks. They seemed to have more of them than I've seen anywhere else in Memphis. I loved the way they felt in my hands, but I want to also try them out before buying one.

The price was around 550$. Is this fair for the quality? I've heard that it's a bit underpriced from a few people, but I want more opinions. Since FN supplies something like 70% of small arms that the US military uses, that weighs heavily in my opinion already.

I have an FNP .45 and it's awesome. Picked it up on here. I also had a FNP .40 but traded it because I was tired of dealing with three calibers. I picked it up off Gunbroker for $420! Check out Gunbroker before you blow your money at Bass Pro. Quality of the FN is great. What you would expect for a polymer gun, but with 1911 features you won't find on other's. They shoot good, the FNP 45 is so soft to shoot and big enough that you can really hold onto it. You won't be dissapointed as the FNP's are probably some of the most overlooked pistols on the market but some of the best in their segment.

I own a FNP-45, and I havn't had any problems with mine. It is a good shooting gun. Reasonably accurate. Overall, I think the FNP-45 is a pretty good deal for the money. If that $550 price is for the FNP-45, then that is a very good deal, especially considering you get three mags and a very nice case with it. In regards to the FNP-40, if it is anything like the FNP-9, I would look elsewhere. I owned a FNP-9, and while I didn't have the first problem with the gun, the trigger was the absolute worst. I remember being at the range on several occasions thinking, "break, break, break, break, break, dammit fire." It had one of the longest trigger pulls I have seen.

I ended up traded my FNP-9 for a Glock 34. While the Glock 34's trigger isn't super fantastic, I feel like I am shooting my Wilson in comparison to the FNP-9. If you can live with the trigger, then it is a very fine gun.

I just bought my FNP 45 Monday and shot it today...Survey Says? I LOVE IT. It is pretty darn accurate. Very easy to shoot and even easier to break down and clean. I spent many moons shooting Glocks and do love them, but I am glad i decided to go with something different. I paid $586 out the door and it came with 3 (14) round magazines.
