My wife just led me into our attic to show me two square piles of snow. She was terrified. It blew in from the roof vents. I've never seen that happen before. I'm not sure what she wants me to do about it, but it won't get done tonight! It's freaking COLD in there!!!!!

A shop vac ( to remove the snow piles ) and some plastic to temporarily cover the vents, maybe?

Couldn't handle winter without duct tape n' plastic sheeting... and a bit o' rope to tie up the dead trees that I'll have to cut as soon as the weather permits. ( Yeah, that was yesterday's chore: running a line to a dead pine tree that looked like it might wanna get all lazy on our power lines. )

Oh, and I guess it either wasn't that cold after all, or your wife thought that it indeed DID need to be handled tonight. :)

LOL! We have a winner. If mamma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

Honestly, you really did wanna deal with it while it was still too cold for the snow to melt and run down into the insulation and ceiling. :)

Just remember to uncover the vents before summer gets here.

I just heard that there've been 45 wrecks reported here since 3:00pm. That works out to about 8 or 9 wrecks an hour. And that means two things:

1) the folks at the sheriff's department and police department are now pulling their hair out.

2) there's no way we're going out on the roads here any time soon.

Guest Letereat!

I was cruising down Maloney to see how slick it was bout 2130 and someone had already slid into the ditch on a curve with a slight bank. At 20 mph a stomp on the breaks gave you about 3 car lengths to stop with a slight skid. Tires only got bout 20k on em. Id say if your wreck does not involve injury you are SOL and basically on your own.

I got out to get coffee a few hours ago. Talked the wife into going with me. Roads were slick, but not too bad. I've got a Jeep and can get around pretty well. Problem was too many people who have no clue were on the road. I saw at least 6 cars in the ditch and followed a couple of cars that were scared to be out - not a good situation. We made one quick stop and headed home. Should be a fun commute for everyone in Nashville tomorrow morning.

But, its not snowing in the attic (at least that I know of). :D

According to this Survey, we have 2 of the safest cities in the USA to drive in........Apparently, they weren't observing the winter months!
