I'm just home on leave. My waiting period will cover the time I will be gone until my next leave (every 90days). I may have to wait, but I won't be around to be constantly searching my mailbox. Until HCP comes through, I'll have to settle for my work issued Beretta 9mm, Bushmaster Carbine, and my M-134 minigun. :bat:

Hey man, thanks for your service - it's not taken for granted or forgotten.

Just razzin...

Truly appreciate your service.

Btw, you might need all that firepower back HERE before long.

Or now, if you have to go to Memphis much!

Yes to all. 48 hours time limit.

I think Target is more appropriate myself, given the name.

But no ammo there, so you have to renew your permit a year early if you choose that route.

And you're pretty much required to buy nachos from the deli when you carry to Wal-Mart on your maiden voyage. It's in the rulebook somewhere.

Well.... if that's the "rules", I guess I'll have to do it. :bat:

Thanks for your service. If I were governor I push for a change where if you served in the military you would be eligible for a hand gun permit after a back ground check.

Ohshoot,

Without changing the topic of this forum or mentioning any names....Depending on Americas choice this November, we might need to stock up on guns and reloading equipment. I am truly fearful of the mindless following of the people of this great nation. I'm simply looking forward to carrying when I return on my next leave. I look at it as piece of mind.

I finally received my HCP yesterday. dancingbanana.gif And it did take ~90 days which seems to be the going wait in Davidson county.

Okay, now Walmart... I think I have enough 45 target rounds but really do need some defensive rounds and some 9mm target.

Btw, are their nachos really any good?

;)

"Walmart" and "nachos" are two words that I wouldn't ever associate together, personally... unless buying ingredients to make my own... but you do whatever your gut tells you. :)

The problem with that is it wont be your gut telling you anything! ;)2194_constipation.gif

I have absolutely never purchased any food from their, um...deli. And never will. I just asked because some guys had talked about that as part of the HCP/Wal-Mart ritual. If so, I won't partake.

Some guys are like puppy dogs, which will eat (or try to eat) just about anything. ;)

DMark,

They are "department" Hueys but I'm not sure I met Bruce. He may be at our other location. It's a great job, but I'm not looking forward to hanging out behind my gun this winter. There isnt many places to hide from the wind in the cabin of a Huey with the doors open/off.

waited 4wk then called after that got it within 7 days. i say call.

I called on July 16th, (I had turned in paperwork and fingerprinted on May 30th), was told they were waiting on my background check. I got a call on July 23rd saying my permit was processed on July 16th. It arrived on the 24th.

I think everyone is right about calling after 4 weeks. I am at about 45 days. I just got off the phone with them and they told me they would issue it today and I should have it in about 7 days.

Yep, call before your 90 days.

I was printed on April 23rd. I called them this morning and got what seems to be the standard answer, "Your permit will be issued today and you will receive it in about 7 days."

Wow, that's a long time...

I called, wish I had gotten that answer.

I just got the "still waiting on background check".

Hoping it will move like Bubbiesdad's did, never know.

Paperwork and printed on June 16th. Just called to check on it and they said still waiting on the background check. Oh well. I'll try again next week to see if I get a different person.

That's what I was told, I recieved a call a week later saying it was processed and gave me the date of the day I called. Maybe you'll have my good fortune.
