I use Dri-Splendor silica gel. You can get it from Hobby Lobby and it is used to dry flowers. I just package it up in pouches made from coffee filters. You can microwave it or bake it when it changes color to recharge its dessicant properties. So lasts forever pretty much. It was $5.99 for 1.5lbs.

I use the rechargeable stack-on brand dehumidifier. When the desiccant changes color, you plug it in overnight to recharge it. I typically recharge it on the first of every month.

I use the Evadry. Same deal. They're not the cheapest tho. That's why I pulled my first post. I think we're talking scoops and cookie sheets and stuff ;)

I picked up my EvaDry at The Safe House in Nashville. He also has the desiccate bags. If you don't have any place local that carries the EvaDry, Amazon has them and most qualify for free shipping. I have the EVA 333 in a 25 gun safe. It's more than enough. I only have to plug it in every 2 months or so. It dries out in about 6 hours while plugged in, but I always leave it overnight just to be sure. A really big safe might use an EVA 500.

So I went from nothing to control moisture to owning the EvaDry 333. The EvaDry reduced the RH 8% at the same temperature (68 degrees).

The RH is now 50% at 68 degrees. Is that considered high for the temperature? If so do I add another form of humidity control?
