I'm new to the area and don't know any fellow gun owners. In order to join the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association, you need a sponsor.

Any help?

I've read through their application, I don't believe you need a sponsor right away. If you don't have one, they will review your app at two meetings (they have one meeting a month), and if you're accepted, you have to gain a sponsor within your first year. I'm sure someone here will help you out. I'd join but I just don't have the dough.

Yeah I never knew it was there til last year. Saw the arial image they have on their site. That place is pretty huge.

I am not a member, but I shoot their IDPA match. They have a great range and a bunch of fine folks to shoot with. The range is open to the public for matches. Check it out at www.orsaidpa.com

Come on out and shoot an IPDA or IPSC match (no membership required). Talk to some of the members, I'm sure somebody will offer to sponsor you.

It is a great facility, it has to be one to the top ten accessible ranges in the Eastern US, especially when you consider the low cost.

It is a great facility. I am a member even though it is three hours away from me.

There is an open to the public CMP shoot Saturday 4-19-08 registration starts at 8 am. There should be lots of member around.

I was thinking about going but I am not sure about standing in the rain for several hours... If it doesn't rain I will be mad I didn't go.

Oh, you will need an AR-15, M-1A1's or Garand with a sling and about 60 rounds of ammo.
