Any fence guys in middle Tennessee?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the market for a home with an existing privacy fence, but in the event I find a home that doesn't have one, I'm wondering what it would cost.

I'm sure it's dependant on multiple factors, but some rough ideas would be helpful.

If it would be any cheaper for me to purchase the materials and pay someone for the labor, I'd be more than willing to go that route.

I'm no fence guy but I thought I'd mention to always double check w/ codes & HOA especially.

I had already thought about checking with HOA, but I didn't think about codes. Never imagined that could be an issue. Thank you.

I just had a 6ft privacy fence built and was charged $15 a ft.

It was well worth the money too. I watched the two guys using a 2 man auger take all day to set the posts. The ground was as hard as you could possibly imagine. Only one hole had any rock in it and no tree roots in any. Just rock hard dirt. There is no telling how long I would have had to work by myself to get those posts set.

My brother in law has a backhoe in case you decide on a moat rather than a fence.

Moats can be pretty expensive in Tennessee, because they're only half done unless you fill them with either crocagators or piranha, preferably both. The problem with that idea is Tennessee winters are too cool for tropical reptiles and fish, so you'd either have to heat the moat or be prepared to replace your stock every spring.
