The application for a permit states no handguns allowed in the driver testing stations, but they have no signs on the entrance of a station where I went today. Why?

I bet you didn't score very well on the written test did you?:D

How many signs do you see at the post office?

Or at the Applebee's

Go for it is all I can suggest, then you can post about your exploits when you get out.

Darn you guys crack me up :P

I really really enjoy y'all enabling kwik. Almost as much fun as watching the party of panderers, the party of divide and rule decide between a socialist and a facist. :D

Applebee's does not have to be posted. I do not think the Post office needs to be posted either.

I was wondering about this as well. Do establishments that serve liquor by the drink have to post even if its illegal to carry within?

Btw, talkin about applebees, etc... not the post office.

No, those establishments are covered under State Law as non carry areas.

That is correct 39-17-1305 prohibits carry where alcohol is served for onsite consumption and does not require the establishment to post a sign.

Other places that are off-limits by law like Schools (39-17-1309) and Public parks, playgrounds, civic centers and other public recreations buildings and grounds* (39-17-1311) are required to post signs within the law that says they are off-limits.

*Can exempt themselves from having to post a sign

Under that regulation, no. And they do not have to post at the door. However their liquor license requires them to post

Any person, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity holding an on-premise consumption liquor-by-drink license issued under Chapter 4 of Title 57, shall prominently display and post, and keep displayed and posted, in the most conspicuous place in the licensed premises, the license so issued.

Each holder of a license to sell wine or other alcoholic beverages for on the premises consumption shall display in a prominent place at the location where such sales are permitted a sign, at least six (6") inches high and fourteen (14") wide stating:

MISDEMEANOR STATE LAW PRESCIBES A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF ELEVEN (11) MONTHS TWENTY-NINE DAYS IMPRISONMENT AND A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500) FOR CARRYING WEAPONS WHERE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE SOLD OR SERVED.

Both retail and on-premise licensee’s shall post, in a prominent place easily seen by it’s customers, a warning sign supplied by the alcoholic beverage commission which states:

THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES DURING PREGNANCY CAN CAUSE BIRTH DEFECTS, INCLUDING FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME AND FETAL ALCOHOL EFFECTS.

Minimum penalty for each of sign not properly posted is $250.00.

But that's pretty much like putting the speed limits on the ticket instead of a sign, its already too late.

Ah...ok Lincoln, thanks. So does 57-4-203(k)

Trouble is that sign is outdated though as you can carry where it is only sold and taken off the premises.

Also it seems to only affect places that serve liquor, not beer.

Good analogy on the speed limit/ticket
