STI Spartan V .45?

Anybody have one? Reliability? I have the 1911 itch again. I owned a Para SSP and regret selling it. It was my only 1911 to date as I am a Glock guy. However, I miss the feel of the 1911 and wondering if the Spartan would serve me well. I like the features that come standard. I would like a high end 1911 but can't justify the price because I will probably stick to Glock on my duty rig. That said though if I got a wild hair and like the Spartan, would it be a feasible duty gun after reliability testing? Might have it cerakoted/duracoated as I understand it is parkerized. I think I might be drawn to it because my call sign in Iraq was Spartan 6, lol.

From everything I've read, they are good guns for the money in .45.  I personally owned one in 9mm, but ran into reliability issues and never could get it to run 100%.  I ended up selling it after a while.  Fit and finish are what you would expect in a 1911 at that price point.

I know of at least one that was out of spec and broke links.  If I were going to use a Spartan for serious purposes I'd have someone like Tim Calhoun check it over first.
