KAMIKAZE DRONE

Textron System’s Battlehawk drone weighs 5.5 pounds and can be flown via an Android-based app. The “kamikaze” aircraft is designed to blow up along with its intended target.

Nothing says unintended consequences like making a damn phone app to bomb people with remote control airplanes.

That would be awesome, if it was only real.  Bunch of RC guys got together and figured out it would've been impossible for that thing to fly with that much weight (if it was real) using the blades shown in the video.

So, how did the V-1 and V-2 come to existence? Yeh, a government made them, but they came from ideas from individuals.

If you think something like that can't be made more cost effectively than government, think again. Robert Goddard didn't

have millions when he made his rockets. Very possible. Government subsidized innovation is only more expensive, not

necessarily better.

Well just so we're aware, al Qaeda has been all over this for years. I can't remember where I saw it, but there was surely an article in their terror rag about it. Not hard to do at all, but with the small amount of explosives you'd be limited to I'm not sure what the application would be. Also, they'd have to figure out their fuse, which would need to detonate on impact. The level of sophistication needed to engineer that is pretty high for these guys, so surely it would result in catastrophic operator error, yielding hilarious results.

Think you missed my statement below the photo; I was just referring to the capability of controlling these things with a smartphone not the tactics or technology of a suicide drone.
