1000gr powder container?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is some sort of April Fools joke, or if it is legit. Google search is finding it on a couple of different websites...

If this is legit, I actually kind of like the idea. Yes, the cost per ounce is higher but if you are wanting to test a powder then this makes sense vs buying a full pound for 3x the cost and potentially having a pound of powder you do not like sitting taking up space.

It would certainly not be for everyone but would be great for testing new powders.

Here’s big (and small) news for reloaders — get ready for smaller powder containers. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently approved new smaller containers for shipment of smokeless powder. The new containers are designed to hold 1000 grains, exactly one-seventh of a pound. That works out to 2.29 ounces of powder — quite a bit less that you are getting currently with one-pound (16 oz.) containers............

Definitely an April Fools joke... Although not a great one. If you read the whole article it gets a bit ridiculous in places. Sent via Tapatalk. Blame the phone for any spelling issues.

I smell a government generated rat. Packaging costs money. The cost of a pound of powder has gone nuts with everything else gun related " thank you very much Obama". I think by promoting a smaller size we are promoting a future limitation on what we can buy in the future.
