My First 1911

Recommended Posts

A Springfield loaded is on my short list, nice gun!

As far as grip, I sort of had the same problem with my Kimber Pro Raptor grips, thick and slick. They looked so awesome on the pistol I was hesitant to change them out but. function is more important to me than looks, sooooo.

I ordered a set of VZ grips with the aggressive texture. They are much thinner than the wood factory grips, and I'm here to tell ya, even if your hands are covered in KY jelly for some odd reason, the pistol will never "slip" out of your hand! If you ever shoot an IDPA match in the rain, they just paid for themselves.

The draw back of those aggressive texture grips is CCW on a belt holster with no under shirt. It will eat you raw in short order.
