Need a transmission repair in Nashville area

My 2000 Subaru is making a sound when going through the gears (manual transmission). I'm pretty sure it is something in the right transaxle because the guy I took it to in Clarkville a year ago for something else said it might eventually become a problem. I trust the guy in Clarksville, but he's too far away. I need a recommendation in the Nashville/Brentwood area.  The car is worth less than $2,500 so I can't see putting a lot of money into repair. Any suggestions?

You might check with Ewing Bass Garage & Transmission in Nashville (on Charlotte). Been there since 1955. Did some work for me about a year ago but not internal to the transmission. Would trust what they told me based on my experience with them. Heard good things about them when I was checking around at the time.
