I've shot the judge so if the governor is supposed to better....I definitely need to see it in action. I've heard about a week ago that it should be shipping out in about 6 weeks so about 5 to go.
-
The back section used to be all guns and such for hunting but they moved all of that to the store in Alcoa because of the remodel but that's what I was told about a week after it happened when I went in to look at their selection.

http://www.powellauction.com/auctions/view_file/estate/561 113 total items and I love the last one "Bag of Clips".....I assume they mean magazines so that should be at least somewhat interesting. Although, mostly shotguns and rifles.

I think you can sell outside the show and you can just walk around and talk with others during the show but someone else might be better suited to give info on that. I'm thinking about going Saturday around 11 or so to see if I can find a P226 22LR conversion kit for $230 or less. If not, I'll just get to check out their ammo

Sounds like fun.

Wow...good shooting. Sounds like it's time to find you a good deal on a CZ
-
Awesome Did you get a chance to give the Sig P226 a try?
-
?? Thought this was a "few" pics and not just "one" pic Nice job though.
-
You definitely got a pretty decent deal as long as it came with at least 2 magazines.

You're not the only one...I wanted a Glock for so long until I tried a Sig and was told by everyone to try new guns. I also liked some of the H&K offerings but their prices are insane. Honestly, it depends on how many rounds you plan on firing out of each gun. If you're not firing a lot, just get 3 targets for $1 and use them. Just aim for different spots on the target for your accuracy but get a good feel for the gun because accuracy gets better over time (so I'm told) while the feel lasts forever. Hold it in your hand unloaded and then load it and get a good feel for each trigger pull. See what you like and don't like about it and then pick your favorites and go from there.

I prefer DA/SA because you at least have an option. The good thing about it is that majority of the time, you'll be firing in SA anyway. However, and this is the bad thing, you'll have to practice with that long DA pull to really make sure you're used it in case you need to fire from DA. DAO is essentially the hammer always fires from the decocked position. This is good and bad depending on the user. For my tastes and with my gun, that's a 10lb trigger pull every time. There's nothing fun about that. If the trigger pull is lowered to around say 5lbs, it's not that bad but it depends entirely on the trigger. Now the exception to the above are the Glocks, xD's, M&P's and Sigmas. There's also probably a lot of others but they are generally the polymer pistols that you have to rack the slide in order to be able to fire the gun. That has it's good and bad uses as well. Particularly not fun on FTFire's. Unfortunately, you have to rack the slide, eject the magazine, and then put the bullet back into the magazine and then put the magazine back into the pistol vs just pulling the trigger again with a DA/SA. With a SA pistol, you just recock the hammer with your thumb and pull the trigger again. Still easier than the above. DAK I don't really know much about. I know it's Sig's proprietary DAO system but that's about it. SA is like the DAO system except you can only fire from the cocked position. The good thing about this is that you generally always have a light trigger pull. In most guns, you'll have a hammer and you can either manually cock it back or whenever you rack the slide, it will cock back. Good for range use. As far as target shooting, you really can't go wrong with any pistol firing type choice. It just all depends on the user. Firing from SA using a DA/SA pistol is just as fun as shooting a DAO pistol IMO. CCW is dealer's choice in whatever you're most comfortable with on a daily basis. Zombie Hunting....DA/SA all the way...why...because if your bullet doesn't fire, you don't have to rack the slide before you can fire another shot...just pull the trigger again.

I'd join you and let you shoot my Sig but I'll be at work

Yeah it's nice and long but after you test them, you'd be better off buying your gun online out of state and having it transferred here. Their prices are seriously high and they only offer around 10% discounts during holidays which still isn't that great. Just to give you a bit of a hint. The last time I checked, they had a Sig P2022 for $450 and it can be had online from lots of different stores around the $370 price range. The only bad thing (going back to reading your earlier post) about getting a metal gun is that they are really expensive compared to their polymer counterparts. Sig's have high price tags on them but they are great guns. Baretta makes some but I've never shot anything other than an M9 so no comment there. H and K's are good guns as well that are metal but they top Sig's in price and I just can't justify it myself.

I don't know about Cookeville but you've got the best suggestion that everyone gave me when I was in the market for my first gun. Here we have Coal Creek Armory and $15 let's you play with any gun they have in the case other than their machine guns. I fell in love with the Sig P226 and went and bought one. You should give it and the Glocks a try as well just to keep your horizon broadened. Also, try the S&W M&P series pistols as well.

Sig makes one in 9mm but it costs like $1200 retail so you might find it for $1k But I agree with the earlier poster...just get one in .22LR for cheap shooting. I know Sig makes a fullsize 1911 in 22LR for $450 MSRP so you should be able to find it cheaper than that.
-
Wow...Congrats on your trade . A new face in the Sig family is always good to see .
-
Nice...better than Jetguns.com for $379. The only qualms I have about this (not the gun but the deal) is that the model E2022-9-BSS would be the better one. That one has the night sights and the 15 round magazine vs this one having only contrast sights and the 10 round magazine. There's also this one E2022-9-B which has the 15 round magazine and contrast sights as well.

Holy Thread necromancy.....

If I had a Sig Pro, i'd definitely take you up on that offer just to let you shoot it but I have a P226 .40 and soon...(I freaking hope) Sig will finally send me the bloody 22LR conversion kit I ordered from them 5 weeks ago.
-
CCA does have the M&P9. Also, since you're going plastic, you should give the Sig Pro SP2022 a shot. It's a compact as well with a 3.9 barrel. I don't think they have it at CCA though but it can normally be had brand new for less the $400 shipped. Last time I looked on Slickdeals, I think they were $379 shipped for .40 and 9mm. Coal Creek Armory Indoor Shooting Range Here's their full list

As long as both others are Sig's...then yes...

Well, I've never shot an M&P but I've held a P30 and you're right about one thing...the price is insane. I really liked the P30L and the USP but I loved the Sig P226 more but that's my tastes. Between the two you have listed, I'd go with the P30 but I've gotten finicky lately. I prefer a gun with DA/SA now. However, like everyone recommended to me, I would find the gun at a local range and try to shoot it first and then make your decision. I can say that piece of advice really helped me make my decision on buying my Sig. If you can't find one to rent, see if any of the members here or on another forum have one and would be willing to let you buy some ammo and shoot their gun with them at a range.

I never look for 45 but I'll check the next time I go to WW.
-
I just went to the WW on Clinton Hwy tonight and they have plenty of 9mm, .22LR, and .40. The only boxes they are low on are the 100 round Winchester boxes and they only had 4 on the shelf. Also, by plenty of ammo, I mean at least 30+ boxes on the shelf of various brands. I think on 9mm, the shelves were pretty full of Winchester in 50 rounds and 100 rounds and they had a bunch of TulAmmo 50 round 9mm boxes. I didn't look for Federal 9mm but they did have a bunch of 50 round boxes of .40.
-
Wow...have yet to experience this. I went to Wally World in Turkey Creek and they still have like 3 shelves full of .40 100 round boxes of Winchester.
